Games you've bought but not played yet

Post by gmintyfresh » Tue Sep 30, 2008 9:10 am

I do this all the time, with the sheer volumes of games I've been buying recently I've not had chance to play some titles that I bought months back.

Here are some of my guilty confessions:

King of the Fighters 95 - AES

Overboard - PS1

Jumping Flash - PS1

Too Human - 360

Fear Effect - PS1

overboard is cool you should play that next.

I still haven't played the PSOne Speedball 2010 I bought last week despite being really excited about buying it for £1.99 from the BHF....

I never do this, but I can blame buying a game I wasn't too sure bout as it was very cheap, so:

The Club (not even unwrapped) for 360.

I seem to have built up a collection of various RPGs that I've not even gotten a chance to look at yet, notably Odin Sphere on PS2 which appears to be some sort of spiritual sequel to the incredible Princess Crown on the Saturn - one of the most gorgeous 2D games ever made. Also Lost Odyssey on Xbox 360 which I'm determined not to start until I've completed Blue Dragon, which could be some time...

Lets see:

Saints Row (360)
Just Cause (360)
Bio Shock (360)
Call of Duty 3 (360)
Metroid Prime 3 (Wii)
Trauma Centre (DS)
Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn)
Powered Gear (CPS2 Arcade)
Okami (PS2)
Chibi Robo (Gamecube)
Gregory Horror Show (PS2)

And dozens of retro games that I got for practically nothing. I think to myself I'd rather get them now rather than wait and run the risk of not being able to find them again.

erm second on Bioshock plus the following:

Star Wars: Force Unleashed
Metroid on Wii
Resi 4 on Wii (and just in general)
Infinite Undiscovery
Ninja Gaiden 2

There's probably more but those are the ones I really want to get around to.

Just finished Pure on 360 and playing far too much Pinata 2 and Wipeout HD so not had time just yet !!

I picked up Devil May Cry 4 (Xbox360) from the car boot few weeks ago, which is still sealed and not open at all.

I did get round to unwrapping Bio Shock and I have played the demo to death prior to buying it. Its just that I also got Super Paper Mario the same day and wound up playing that to death so I simply haven't started it yet!

Whatever you are playing at the moment stop it and play this instead. It's fantastic!

Yeah, fair enough. But I think the demo isn't a great indicator of the final product. In the retail release you can remove the framelock which makes the game look and move absolutely lovely (although it messes with V-Sync a touch, nothing major though), it looks much better than the demo. Replaying through it again makes me realise how much of an original game it really is with an atmosphere and storyline that's not seen in very many releases nowadays. Certainly one this gen's standout games.
