Ranger X was a megadrive side scroller with a robot. Einhander on PS1 has just sprung to mind too.

Although I have no idea, and am too tired to look it up, I'm pretty sure that Mega Man is not a robot (hence the word "man" in the title), but - I could be 100% incorrect.

Where is the resident Mega Man know it all when you need him :wink:
