Spiderman 2 for the PSP. Good fun while it lasted plus it had a couple of pretty fun boss fights. Not a patch on the console version though.

Just finished Kane & Lynch 2 Dog Days in a 2 night rental session.

I really liked the style of the first game, it was really unique and the level design was bizzare from one stage to the next. I always called it an experience rather than a game. The sequal removes all that and goes for a linear short 3rd Person Shooter Cover to Cover/ Flank fest. And I love it. It takes fewer risks than the last game, but the level design is beautiful. the world of Shanghai is indeed alive, with civilians being darting out the way of shootouts on the streets to familys being petrified as you kick down their door as you use their flat as a short cut.

Dog Days is more playable than the first, not as varied in gameplay. You will basically be in cover or flanking for the whole game. But it is the best 3rd person shooter of this year, and one of the very best for the 360. I loved it, its almost a companion piece to the first game. As if the this game was an answer to the first being unconventional and at times unplayable, they use the lore of the K&L universe and this time bring it into a solid action title with more familiarity for casual and hardcore shooter fans.

Great story, i was gripped to the last second. it is short but very good.

I completed Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 on the XBOX last night. Seemed really easy in comparison to the first one but not sure if I can be arsed to wade my way through the extreme mode on this one.

How many RPGs have you played?
For a videogame that was released 11 years ago now, Perfect Dark for the N64 completely trounces all its FPS competitors
of the last decade or so, in terms of variety of multiplayer option at your disposal.

Admittedly not a heap but that doesn't lessen the fact that I've enjoyed it more than any other. Anyway, here's a list of the RPG's I've played.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Pokemon Diamond
Pokemon Red
Pokemon Yellow
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood
Neverwinter Nights
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Shenmue
Beggar Prince
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

Contra ReBirth (Wii) - Completed on Normal to unlock Plissken, Hard to unlock Nightmare Mode, and accidentally unlocked Brownie/Tsugu-Min while fiddling around in Debug Mode (normally requires beating on Easy). A bit short, a little too easy on Normal (the only place I really struggled on was the highway chase stage with the robotic camels- the lasers they spew on Hard make it even more intense, but you can avoid them by getting on their backs) and lacking in weaponry (where's Crush?) but not too bad. The cut-scenes were a special kind of bonkers, though, especially Lance's appearance.

New Super Mario Bros Wii - Collected all the star coins in the game.

Have already restarted the game from scratch.

Is there any point to getting all the stars? (beyond completion-ism) I got about 67 Stars I think. I was wondering whether you get any extra goodies for getting them all? beyond the chance to play the extra levels, obviously. :D

Halo reach on heroic co-op. Started on legendary but they are having a laugh. A decent game but not worth another play through.

Mafia 2 for the PC. Fantastic from beginning to end. An excellent story with brilliant set pieces to go with it. The PC version manages to look amazing and really smooth even when you are in an intense gunfight with debris flying everywhere. One of my favourite games of this year for sure.

I also completed Spiderman 3 for the DS. Very nearly great. The touch screen combat was a great idea and was executed pretty well but overall the combat still was to buttonmashy while sometimes it was difficult to register the correct action using the touch screen. Good but could have been better...
