Short of an astonishing PES09 demo today (if it actually turns up on 360), I'm getting this tomorrow, the first time I've bought either of these on launch day ever.Let's get one thing straight before we start: this reviewer has a long and complicated relationship with Pro Evolution Soccer. He's played it since it's inception on the PSOne; he's told anyone and anyone who'll listen about it; extolled it's virtues and proclaimed its brilliance [...] This reviewer has been a zealot of the church of PES [...] Fifa 09 is not only a better game than PES, it's so far in advance of it that Konami's franchise is almost redundant. Fifa 09 is the football video game that dreams are made of
PES 2009 or FIFA 09?

I've actually got to walk past the local indie to get to the garage where my car is being MOT'd today, maybe they'll have pulled a street date sneaky.

The song on Euro 2008 "Attack Attack Attack" is my mates band.SirClive wrote:I am a FIFA man normally and after last years dire PES game I can't see it changing. The Euro 2008 game was great, so if they can enhance that and add club teams in I expect it to be really good.
Im a FIFA man me, Pro evo is ok but for me its the licensed teams that appeal to me, and I know PES has some licensed teams, but I support Chesterfield and I dont think they'll be on PES anytime soon.
Sadly not. I shall pick it up in GAME tomorrow morning.Dudley wrote:I've actually got to walk past the local indie to get to the garage where my car is being MOT'd today, maybe they'll have pulled a street date sneaky.

Anyway I'd automatically pick PES but after 2008 I'm none the wiser.
Apart from the Megadrive version I've never bought a FIFA since.

I get a FIFA occasionally, when it's out of date and cheap, last one was 07 on PS2, think I used it once...

What machine do you play online with?

Really? It's turned me right off. It's so clunky and lifeless. It feels like a PS2 game, like PES4... Fifa moved on, it seems PES forgot to.bonerlaw wrote:Have played PES demo.......i shall definitely be getting this game now!
I do appreciate that both have been smart enough this year to offer 100% configurable controls, allows people to swap either way.

Fifa 09 still plays like a game closely related to football , PES plays like a game of football , id rather have a decent game than all the licensed teams in the world.
Its the only way to compare fifa09 and pes2009 so far , but to compare a demo with a full release isn't right.
