cheers for clearing up the smell issue
Now, are the anorexic staff being starved on purpose so they can fit into those skin tight black jeans?

Also, why the hell do you play that music so loud?
seriously, it's just annoying.
Although granted it does take your mind off the smell for 2 minutes

Sorry guys I don't work in store anymore I'm office bound now so it's not my call

Although when I was a few years ago I'm sure my store smelt really clean, had lots of great games and the music was about right...

Sounds like a gaming version of that bit out of Willy Wonka where they have the chocolate river and stuff

I like the Sheffield one, has a very limited retro section and the staff are friendly, however since they have Guitar Hero there seem to be the same 3 or 4 kids playing it all day every day. Plus when I'm in a queue there's always some bugger trading in 150 PS2 games with scratched discs and shabby boxes.

Hmm. My local store is smelly too. And if, as the the Gamestation chap (plant) would have us believe it's not the staff, then riddle-me-this: Why doesn't Game smell funny? Or HMV? Or indeed, Cash Converters? Hmm?
The music is too loud too.
I'm afraid to say it but Gamestation = CEX.
They aren't running Gamestation down? Sure. Just like EB wasn't run down.

EB was never run down, they rebranded the stores, there's a difference.
GS/GAME has a lot more cross over by GAME needs to keep up GS simply to avoid people realising they have a monopoly.

My local stores is the Wembley branch and it had loads of retro stuff a few years ago but has been phased out the staff are ok but the shitty music drives me crazy. I herds they were bought out by GAME and thats why the retro stuff was gone.

Generaly there isn't much if any diference in the stock betwean Game and GameStation nowadays. Only diference is that GameStation shops seem to be looking shodier in general, while game is staying much the same as it always was.

No place in the world smells as bad as Manchester City Centre "Crack Convertors".
Two minutes in that place and you feel like throwing up.
It is one of the most disgusting smells you can EVER imagine.
I dare any of you to drop in when visiting!
Cash Generator is the same. Wheres Cash Convertors?

my local game station (grimsby) absolutly stinks it smells of 14 year old boys and has 5 shelves of retro if your lucky. Our game is not as smelly but rubbish always seems overpriced you can't move for stock or people
Our gamestation has 1 plus point they have really cool 80 music playing

The lancaster branch doesn't smell , but its in a relatively new shopping arcade , the staff are all wacky though and the music is way to loud (some kind of strange grunge type racket) , also the retro section is one copy of shining force 2 (md) priced at £39.99 and a gold zelda unboxed cart at £19.99 - thats the lot.
Ive been in the Preston one a few times and the musics not as loud (staff still odd looking) and its just the tiniest GS ive ever seen.
CEX is just across the road , quite a big shop but the prices are very high , its always packed with people selling stuff (phones , ipods , ps2's etc) .
