Emerson Arcadia. My uncle refused to buy me a Galaxy Invader 1000 for my birthday cause he said it didn't really do anything. I was so angry with him cause I had been wanting one for ages.
Then he took me to an electronics shop, showed me the Arcadia and I was stunned. This was back in '81. Took it home and I loved it. Wish I could find one now.

Does a Spectrum 128 with a ZX Interface 2 count? I mean, it does accept cart-based games (well, Jet Pac on cart in the case of my Speccy).
Otherwise, at the moment the old 1989 blurry-screened housebrick Game Boy is the oldest cart machine I have.

Thanks for those images - They finally jogged my memory so I know what the old system we had was
That is also our first system - although we had the German version, the Interton VC4000:

And you wonder why you're being labelled as elitist... you couldn't be any more elite if you were a wireframe.

For me it's a Sega Megadrive.
If you want me to go back even further than that, does a Commodore Vic-20 count?
