What game do you feel addicted you beyond any other

Post by shifter » Mon Sep 08, 2008 5:57 pm

So as the title suggests.

What game was the one game or maybe still is that turned you from a casual happy go lucky gamer into a game addicted cant stop playing must complete this level must win this race must shave 0.00001 of a second of my lap record etc

Of course there maybe more than one across the diffrent genres or systems.

And of course do you still play it?

Be intresting to see what games come out tops ie games that have a physical ending or a game that carrys on and on and on.

For me

Arcade - Moon Cresta
PC - Motocross madness 2

There of course were many others but these two do stick in my mind more than others.

and yes still play both games

Not addicted to any game but the game ive played more than any other is Bubble Bobble - I can (just about) finish it on my own on a good day.

I still enjoy finding it on new formats - Most recently, the DS - Its a shame the developers pulled the "new" version out of their arses.

Addicted to/favourite game, same thing? dunno?
Most time spent on games such as Ocarina of Time, Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie (all N64). Also N64 is Wave Race, played it for 2 hours tonight, that game is censored awesome!

However, most addicted to Stunt Car Racer and at no. 1 - Dungeon Master on the Atari ST. :)

Most addictive for me, X-Com: Enemy Unknown, picked up the Playstation version by chance in a 2nd hand store, I'd never heard of the game (had never even played Laser Squad on the Speccy) and it was quite unlike what I expected for a PS game, I loved it, played it way too much, completely lost track of time, and it took priority over food, sleep, women, and going to lectures. It was also the only I playstation game I played that crashed occasionally, which meant that not only did I have that 'just one more turn' thing, but also 'just let me get back to where I was'. I still have phases where I play it on the PC.

Somewhat addictive: any Civilization game(various), Syndicate (Amiga), Elite (various) X3:Reunion(PC), Lords of Chaos (Spectrum) and many more...

Several for me:

Amiga: Knights, Sneech!, Chaos Engine, Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge, Tactical Manager 2, Super Hang-On, Space Harrier II
Arcade: Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Super Hang-On, Space Harrier, Daytona USA, Sega Rally
Amstrad CPC: Head Over Heels, Batman, Jack Nicklaus Greatest 18, Exolon, Bomb Jack, Dizzy, Kwik Snax, Super Robin Hood, Ghost Hunters, Rainbow Islands
Commodore 16: Bomb Jack, Kikstart, Football Manager, F1 Simulator, Death Race 16
Commodore VIC-20: Rockman

I think that should just about cover it!
