Chopper games
There has been some great helicopter games, which is your favourite
Mine have to be Choplifter ,Thunderblad in arcade
Also Apocalypse on C64 by US Gold (I think!)
What a great game this was, anyone else remember it?
And one of the few games I completed!

Re: Chopper games
i suspect you mean Fort Apocalypse, published by U.S. Gold in the U.K., developed and published in the U.S. by Synapse. There was a time when "retro" was just starting to take off where every tenth "name that game" thread on USENet was looking for that game so a few people know it... =-)paranoid marvin wrote:Also Apocalypse on C64 by US Gold (I think!)

i quite liked Tiger Mission on the C64 although it's an utter scumbag for difficulty, similarly Airwolf 2 on assorted formats (i leant towards the C64 back in the day since that was the only machine i had to play it on but the C16 seems quite playable too) was fun but rock hard. Oh, Heli Rescue on the C64 is a nice update on the Fort Apocalypse/Airwolf rescue the men kind of game.

Thanks, yes that is the game I was referring to
Thinking back,I think it was actually Atari 800XL I played that game on
I dont think I ever played Airwolf 2,but the original was awful (remember
bombing that forcefield on the 2nd screen?) I cant believe it got past the playtesters with such a ridiculously hard start to the game

Re:
S'a very different game, Airwolf 2 is an all-out horizontal scrolling shoot 'em up (with vertical motion) very much from the Gradius school of game design, except the scrolling went left to right.paranoid marvin wrote:I dont think I ever played Airwolf 2,but the original was awful (remember bombing that forcefield on the 2nd screen?)
