Best football game ever coming to DS soon....

Post by Bub&Bob » Wed Aug 06, 2008 5:07 pm

According to NRevolution Subbuteo is coming to the DS in September.

If its not just a cash-in or aimed at 5 year olds then it may be quite good! It may work really well with the stylus!

Can't be worse than the 8-bit versions!

I played that on the PC and it was dire. If those screenshots are legit, then I'll look forward to its release.

If its realistic, the pitch wont be flat and you will be able to kneel on the DS and snap players!

Well, you're half right; you can see creases of unflatness in the pitch in the screenshots.

no, that was just normal sensible soccer. and it was awful

they should make a version of Amiga SWOS, with the manager mode, etc

I couldn't agree more!

No stupid update of the gameplay (e.g. PS1/PS2/XBOX awful updates) - just a straight port of Sensible World of Soccer on the Amiga.

Then update the stats and add online multiplayer. I guarantee it would sell by the bucket load! The XBOX live version did...

Sensible World of Soccer is in my top three of all time.

As for that game, nothing will ever beat real Subbuteo.

I'd only agree with an Amiga port of SWOS if they included the option to use 3 buttons for different kicks (as in the Mega Drive version).

Wonder if there's an option for "Stand on one of the wee players with your bare feet than scream and swear for 5 straight minutes"

The subbuteo looks ace. the touchscreen would be good for the realistic flicking. Not sure about the longevity of the game though but id like to try it.

I remember a friend of mine's older brother had subbuteo with the stands and everything, and he took it so seriously. If his friends were coming to play he made his mum put a towel on top of the "pitch" and iron it so it was perfectly smooth. He hit me once because I knelt on the corner and made a little crease. He used to leave two teams set up all the time so he could play anytime so once as a joke when he was at college we glued all the players down. He went apesh.i.t !
