Yep, Outrun is awesome!
Look into putting custom firmware on it - Not only cool emulation but playing PS1 games on it is really cool - Do get a mem card though. 4gb cost nothing now - Ive got one full of emulators (MS, MD, NES, SNES, C64, Vic20, GB, GBA, ZX Spec, VCS), lots of roms, about 10 PS1 games, not to mention 3 of my PSP UMD's ripped onto it which really improves the loading times!

You gonna be impressed!! GBA emulator is my current fav (Mario Kart GBA is pretty much full speed), you can get all the emulators from here:

All the emulator are in the left panel, scroll down a bit!!

Ah, no idea - Ive got a phat and upgraded my firmware a couple of years ago.

If you find out, let me know as I want to play more recent PSP games but cant cos they will require a Sony official upgrade to play.

Im sure the chaps on here will know though.

Loving my DS though - I think you should get one of those too!!

Good choice, though I want a PSP, I believe the DS lends itself to portability more then the PSP does IMO.

I got Sensible Soccer running in jenesisDS 07.4, it has menu corruption and seems to run too fast but there's hope. Had to fiddle with the options a lot.

There's some ace games on the DS but for me there's slightly more on the psp so that's what I went with.......for now.
Agreed about the analogue stick. This is the reason why i sold my PSP. I was playing MK3 on one of those retro compilations and controlling the characters was a nightmare on the sitck and the d-pad. DS gets my vote.

I've got a PSP, and not a DS, but I want one. I think they're both good enough, and different enough from each other to be worth getting. :)

I was thinking more of a native game than emulation. Clearly, Sensible Soccer DS would be a great thing, but Codemasters seems to disagree. See also: Cannon Fodder DS (or, rather, the lack of it).

I couldn't pick one. They're both so utterly different. A year ago I would have picked the DS, but now Sony have woken up (and Nintendo seem to have stopped making games for anyone who knows how to hold a controller) the tide is turning. Can't wait for Phantasy Star Portable on the PSP, even though the acronym is going to make it very difficult to discuss.
