Super Bomberman

Only played a handful of matches but it seems the online is pretty good. I’m a little worried that all the paid characters are going to spoil the fun later on down the line though

Super XYX
Trouble Witches Origin

Now that I’m regularly using Steam, I’m going through some of the shmups on there. I remember playing Trouble Witches on the 360, it’s been too long though for me to tell if Origin is different in any way. Super XYX is amazing, it might be my new favourite shmup. Lots of replay value with different modes and ship types. Super Arcade mode is something else, lol

the game has more issues than that
Things like people walking through bombs and explosions should not be happening in a Bomberman game

^ Is that because of the online, or the dlc characters having special abilities? Either way that doesn’t sound great :/

It is ruining the one core element of the game, other than that the game is fun, but yeah it needs a classic rule set that disables B/S

NiGHTS Journey to Dreams.
Urgh, I wish I didnt give this another chance.
Every single control scheme is no good, it dont help that the camera is slightly behind and at times it just wont let you go through rings.
Also some levels its hard to know where things are meaning links are dropped due to this.
The first boss was annoying, it kept bouncing down the screen out of view
I gave up on the boat section, when after saving the required amount of things it failed me, also it not steering really helps things.

It needs a remaster to sort a lot of this crap out

Tried a bit of A Short Hike on Switch today. Liking how chill it is and how well it controls. Gonna just play in short bursts to drag out what I hear is a short game. I like how you can change the pixel size to make it more or less retro looking.

Rodea the sky solider (Wii)
If they rebranded it as "NiGHTS" and gave it a more dreamy style this would be a better NiGHTS game than NiGHTS Wii was.
A few things are irritating.
Any level with "random" gusts of wind that blow you backwards based on the way you are facing, it does a little "Hold B and keep it in the green" thing, if not it sends the MC flying.
Also level 21, urgh long "Tunnel" level that introduces a new mechanic that is only used on that level to direct the MC, it has a mix of enemy's that follow homing lazers and walls.
Also it really needs a manual camera, it only uses the Wiimote and moving it to the edges of the screen rotates the camera, sometimes, on some boss battles ive struggle to see whats going on.

Stopped playing, got to last boss and at one part of it the camera really didnt want me to see anything.

Dino strike Wii
Mindless shooting game, only
Reloading requires pressing "A" and isnt instant, but is the same time for every weapon
Weapon select should of been a picture of the d-pad and the icon over the direction rather than making me guess.
At times it gets to dark to see anything
Still it feels pretty good when using the machine gun and its rattling away in a plastic gun attachment with gun sounds.
Bit silly how they run up and stand still for a second then attack and run off

Yes the 3D enhanced version (eshop only) (In fact I never played it in 3D). I just finished it yesterday ! Loved it. This is I believe the best version to play this game. It was a port of the original NES with game play and graphics enhancements.

I did not play it as a child (I did not have an NES) but discovered it only recently. Kind of in its own category ! Must play in my opinion :)

Nice. I haven't played it either. I briefly tried it on the Switch online and was a bit indifferent to it, but it's a classic Nintendo franchise I'd like to experience. I may pickup the 3DS version at some point as like you say it seems the optimal way to play it, and once the 3DS shuts down we may never see that version again.
