With now seeming to be a better time than ever, I'm gonna upgrade my internal storage to my PS3 to a TB next week to have all my downloads at bay.

Anyone have any recommendations on a good reailable internal drive?

Well the good news is, any trophies you pick up on the PS3/PS Vita can still be uploaded after the store closure.

Must make sure I've downloaded all my games before then (not that I bought many online).
It looks like from Sony's statement, you'll still be able to redownload anything you've already bought going forward - you just won't be able to buy anything new.

You can still redownload anything you bought on Nintendo's Wii console and that store closed down in January 2019.

The mad-rush for me will be going through my massive pile of unplayed physical titles and making sure I've claimed any extras/dlc that are inside!

The web store is now closed, you can still buy games from the PS3/PSP/Vita itself
Yeah that happened last year (I think?). I remember getting a notification about it. This is the next (and final) step that will kill the services completely.

I think the only games I've downloaded are 'Alex Kid In Miracle World', 'Joe Danger' and 'Pandemonium'. Not much of a downloader (nor online gamer in general).

Does anyone know if the 'update patches' for games will still be available once the store closes?

Is it linked to the Playstation Store?

Each game currently auto-detects an update when you start it for the first time, but I'm not sure where that data is coming from and there doesn't seem to much information online about it!

I don't really want to have to start installing every game I own before 2 July!!! I've got 100s of unplayed titles!

Id assume if it isnt finding anything it wont update CyberPunk aside I cant think of any games there where so broken at launch that they couldn't be played

Agreed, it's not as reliant as the PS4 is for patches, but some games I've found already do rely on it such as 'Fallout New Vegas', 'Mass Effect 2' - also there will be quite a few with trophy glitches without a patch. I just hope that that these patch servers aren't related to the Playstation Store.

The store is a mess at the moment too with random crashes and missing titles... I really wanted to purchase 'Infamous Festival of Blood' but it won't let me buy it individually (even though it is listed individually) - it's only available via a 'Killzone' double pack or the full 'Infamous' compilation (and I already own all of them).

Video game preservation in the digital age really sucks.

There's also the matter of episodic games like the Telltale games that came out with retail versions but require a download for the rest of the episodes.

Sure they're on other systems but the physical PS3 discs are mostly derp cheap in CeX.

^^^ I'm going to be honest, I did NOT expect that. Props to Sony for listening and changing their minds though. I guess all the sales across the stores since the announcement must have proven that there is still enough interest.

So PSP commerce functionality is still ending? That mean we won't be able to download PSP games off PS3 and transfer them to our PSPs or something else?

Does it matter? All of the PSP games have been ripped, haven't they, so they aren't lost.

For the most part, the only problem is the DLC, dont think the PSP had loads of it, the Vita on the other hand
