Commodore 16

Post by jdeacons » Thu Jul 23, 2020 4:58 pm

Hi Guys,

I have a friend trying to sell a commodore 16, it's in pretty good condition and comes with everything that was bought with the system 30 years ago, in boxes. They would prefer it to go to someone that really wants it for what it is, vintage computing technology, and not someone who will just wreck it, does anyone have any suggestions for how we should go about doing that?

Cheers

Have you tried putting an ad in the local newsagents window?

Ebay. That's your best option to reach an actual collector, though it can never be guaranteed. We'd all like to think our stuff was being looked after having hoarded it for 40 years.

Btw, loved your Blue Peter appearance ;)

I think he should join the Commodore C16/Plus/4 Facebook group. He'll probably find a good home for the set there, it's easy to determine if someone is an enthusiast or just trying to make some money out of it.

How much does he want for it and what are the games as I’m going for a complete set?

Has he had the C16 Ted chips heat synched as they tend to break if they don’t

Well, he's obviously a heavy user of this forum, after all, he posted a question nearly a month ago and hasn't replied to his one and only post.

I would be cautious as in the past we’ve had issues with newbies selling stuff (hence the rules about you need x amount of posts before selling)

They must surely know about eBay.

Most of the people who join up make one post shilling their Homebrew game, YouTube Channel or asking for the name of a game.

Besides he replied to me in pm
