Multi-Region Megadrive console

Post by Spyke » Sat Sep 28, 2013 6:35 am

Hi,

I'm selling my multi-region modded MegaDrive console.

It was bought from Console Passion last year and is built on a PAL 1601-05 unit.
It features the usual three-colour region switchless mod - Red = PAL 50hz, Orange = US 60hz, Green = Jp 60hz.

The machine plays games fine, of all regions, but it does seem to only run everything in Green mode. Can't understand why and I'm not a technical expert, so I have supplied photos of the pcb in hopes that it will be a simple modification for someone in the know to make it operate as it should. BUT as said, it currently does play all games of different regions that I've plugged into it, no problems.

Comes with a pad and AV cable. In good overall condition.

No UK psu (as I needed to keep that) but I can include a Japanese 2-pin psu which will require a stepdown converter to use safely with the console. Or UK psus can be found pretty cheaply.

If it runs everything in green doesnt that mean you need to run it through a rgb compatible scart socket? My JP PS2 has to run through Scart socket 1 on my CRT. I dont think your console needs a modification.

Im no expert either though :?

Yep, I used a RGB Scart cable when running this. If required I could include that too - thanks for reminding me!
