The image of the castle crumbling with Simon's hair blowing in the wind, and the organs playing in the background. It's just so final-sounding! I'd say it's a tossup between the End theme and The Cave. The Cave's music is truly a work of art. It's beautiful, dangerous and fits the level perfectly.

Really though, the entire soundtrack is a masterpiece.

The opening music on the first stage. The way it starts slow, gothic almost then kicks in with that amazing fast almost rock like tune!

The opening music is great, but I love the piece called Bloody Tears, in the clock tower, jumping up all the massive cogs...

Second stage, beginning with the small forested section then through the aquaduct after seeing off Medusa. I also like the sequence in stg3 after the caverns as you make your way up the waterfall.

The soundtrack to this game is utterly sublime. Spooky orchestral movements mixed with up jazz fusions, piano pieces and some great versions of past Castlevania tunes. How Masanori Oodachi squeezed this brilliant soundtrack out of the Snes sound chip is beyond me.

The Ending tune is amazing and gives you a feel of real accomplishment. The opening theme is really creepy and sets the tone for things to come. The theme before you meet Dracula in the final battle aswell is awesome. The Dungeon has an amazing theme but for me my favourite is always going to be Bloody Tears. One of my favourite pieces of music, its just such a brilliant partner to the level and the way it builds up to the drums. Just divine.

I like the remix of Bloody Tears in Super Castlevania IV, but I think I prefer the original NES version from Simon's Quest. Regardless, it's still on of the best versions of the song available.

The music in the intro...I recently watched a long official trailer for the new game which used this tune, and it worked well even with today's HD graphics!

The soundtrack is the ionly part of the game that I feel still holds up - it's absolutely amazing. The first level gets me every time - slow beginning then a great tune to back it up. Brilliant.

Bloody Tears is such an amazing update from the NES games and is only one of the many amazing songs on this soundtrack.

I only ever played the first Castlevania on the NES you see, so I didn't know that Bloody Tears was actually a remix from one of the later NES games.

The whole soundtrack is quality, but I love the 'outside the castle' music then the first level proper music. Perfect start to the game sonicly, and a great atmosphere setter.
