I think the fact that the three headed hydra monster-thing creates slowdown during the game makes the battle that much more epic. That's one thing that always stuck out in my mind. It was special effects due to lack of processing power!

The dude with the schythe that looks a little like Death, just before Dracula. Also, guardian boss sequences just before the final boss kix ass.

The Grim Reaper is an awesome boss (as always) and I also like Frankenstein's Monster and the Skeleton Soldier in Stage 7. Grim Reaper is the best though.

The first time I fought Frankenstein's Monster I couldn't believe that he was actually in a Castlevania.

The Grim Reaper is at least beatable in this iteration heh... although I do like the dancing ghost couple boss, that was rather tricky as well.

The Zapf Bat is visually the most attractive boss, but the Grim Reaper is the best in this game.

As I work my way through it they tend to get better and better. My love for Pythia and Medusa in Greek Mythology though puts that ones as probably my favourite.

I actually really like the first level boss.
The way that it crashes onto the screen on the skeleton horse thing and you have to take that out first before destroying the skeleton rider. Even though it's really easy I just find it to be an epic start to the game.

I really enjoy fighting Koranot, the golem boss at the end of stage 4. He shrinks as you damage him, making him a harder target to hit as the fight progresses. The falling rocks also add a frantic dose to the fight. I also get a laugh at how Koranot spelled backwards is "ton a' rok."
