The Bar-With bartender pegging it out the back door and when you do meet him and his mates, you get to give him a ruddy great hiding, in the middle of a downpour.Just bloody fantastic.
Re: SOR2 - Best Moment
Landing every hit with the combo-dragon punch move and the final hit killing the enemy!

Level 7 Elevator on mania difficulty, nowhere to run, just a full fat slugfest to the top, and all with the awesome thumping techno music in the background.......intense is the word!!
If it's a miracle Colour Sergeant, it's a short chamber Boxer Henry, point 4-5 caliber miracle.
Re: SOR2 - Best Moment
The final fight...that cool ninja...the cackling bad guy...brilliant!

There's so many...
The steel pipe and the amazing sound effect as you crack a thug over the head with it is probably my favourite bit. That or accidentally grabbing Blaze's boobs from behind in multiplayer
Seriously though, the pipe.

Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

Best moment? Unleashing German Suplexes left, right and centre with Max. Especially on your mate if you're fighting over apples!

Re: SOR2 - Best Moment
Like the others have said, meeting the bartender outside in the rain, he shouts "Come on!" and then tanning his ass, great stuff!

Re: SOR2 - Best Moment
Like everyone else, I remember fondly getting real excited when the barman legs it out from behind the bar when it all kicks off, only to meet you out back in the rain drenched alley way for some slick roundhouse kicks.
Playing SOR2 again now though, I have to say that the sort of ‘H R Giger/Alien’ themed section of the amusement park is one of the stand out moments for me, with the atmospheric mist, those exploding eggs, the long necked monster, and that sort of ‘Blanka’ style beast that takes you on at the tail end of the level.
It’s a real strange section of the entire game in a sense, and it sort of stands out like a sore thumb, and back in 1993 it was a section of the game I really didn’t like. I just didn’t think it had any place in the game (much like those two robots that hop about the place while you’re on your way up to take on Mr X), but as the years have gone by, It’s come to be the part of the game I feel the most fondly about. Also, the music on that section is pure class, and is a personal favourite of mine

The impact of the first stage is one, the fight outsaide the bar is fantastic. I love how there is an arcade machine of the first game in the second game, pretty funny I must admit. I love using the pipe that sound effect is awesome and it makes you think "that must have hurt".
The dragon punch combo is great too especially when you land every hit on a mob.

The whole game is thoroghly enjoying but there is certainly a sense of great feeling when you use Axles dragon punch combo to finish a boss, you just feel like... raaahhhh! yeah!

Shiva- Mr X is a wimp. Shiva has the best theme the coolest moves and was great meeting him after the boss rush of the last level was immense.
He also has the best music in the entire game!

Taking out your frustrations on your mates in two-player - beating them to a pulp, then eating all the chicken while they get attacked from all sides. Playing fair is not encouraged in the 90s

My comics blog (mostly lesser-known UK stuff from the 80s and 90s)

Beating seven bells out of the barman on level one and finishing him off with Axel's combo, and the slow motion effect as the Dragon Punch takes the last of his energy, while the rain beats down. Brilliant. One of the best moments in the history of gaming, for me.
