Binders

Post by ScruffyKong » Thu Dec 08, 2005 10:18 am

I just wondered if there are any plans to make a binder available to store the magazines in, I still have the last 6 future publications that need a home as well as the new one.

The mag looks great btw, I've not had chance to read it yet though. :D

Yes, my binders are full with issues 1-18, the anthology, the free mags in RG and the GamesTM anthology! A new binder design would be good too.

I would have purchased the original Live binders if it wasn't for the reports of poor insertion that contributed to broken spines.

If there is going to be be a new binder, I would certainly consider it.

I did that as well Mort! Can't get the buggers out once they're in though!

We didn't pick up any RG binders from Live when we did the 'back issue' run after the deal was completed, so they must have completely sold out.

I will take a look at this after Christmas to see whether we can recreate the same sort of binders (I got one when I subscribed to RG in January, but I had to ask to swap it for the Mega Drive emulator that was the current subs offer).

Hopefully if I can source a reliable and high quality producer of binders then we should be able to offer it to RG subscribers.

Bumping this up... just to ask Imagine whether they've managed to get some binders sorted yet? Sadly one of my binders has had its string snap, so I need a replacement PDQ. Please please please tell me there's some on the way.

BTW, subscribed from ish 22 so guess it will fold after that issue...

Someone explain to me the attraction of binders?

Their only real effect seems to make re-reading 1 specific issue virtually impossible.

It is just the same as wanting to keep the packaging for old amiga games in good condition. I don't want to rip, spill something on or lose my mags so I stick them in a binder for safe keeping.

In my experience, getting mags into the old Newsfield binders often wrecked them, unless you were amazingly careful. The "box" magazine holders from Future are pretty good, though, and it's dead easy to get at a single issue of a mag. These days, I largely just rely on el-cheapo card magazine files from Ikea, though!

The removable metal sticks Future used for say the Superplay binders were also good.

Does everyone keep 'all' of their old mags?
I have only kept RG and the Edge Retro mags
Wish I'd kept my old YSs though
