Cover Art

Post by paranoid marvin » Sun Feb 03, 2008 6:14 am

It looks like the days of just sticking a picture of a retro console/computer on the front of the mag are well and truly over , with some really nice and inventive cover designs of late (although I'm still not convinced with the latest Elite one)

But what game art would YOU like to see on the cover?

For me it would have to be Mugsy , with the coverart being a close-up of Mugsy's face , just like on the original cassette. ~Doubt it'll happen , as Mugsy isn't widely regarded as a retro 'classic', but it would sure make for a distinctive cover

I will never grow tired of cartoon covers, such as Oliver Frey's work, or whoever did the first 10 or so issues of Amstrad Action.

Would love more of that retro style artwork on Retro Gamer.

That renegade one is fantastic (even though you have used the crappy C64 version).

What software do you use to get that magazine/book effect?

Nice work by greyfox but I think the Renegade art is too generic but Cabal works really well, the way it pull you into the picture.
