Reader's Questions for next castaway - Martin 'Rare' Hollis
That time again folks and next up is Martin Hollis. Talked to him briefly when we did the Making Of GoldenEye and he's a fan of our little mag, so be assured you'll be posing questions to a friend ;]
You probably know this already, but he worked on Killer Instinct, GoldenEye and Perfect Dark at Rare, then was involved in the development of the Gamecube (sounds intriguing) before setting up his own company, Zoonami.
All questions gratefully received and of course they can be as general or specific as you fancy.
Cheers in advance - you never fail to come up with good stuff mi ducks.

Is it a frustrating experience to begin on a new and hush-hush project that is enormously powerful compared to current stuff (probably so much so that people don't believe in the specs that are rumoured), and then see how time passes by and Moore's Law chugs on and ups the list of what PCs and competing consoles can do while you (or the company making the hw your game is targeting) is _still_ not finished and can release?
What did you think about the cart/cd choice of Nintendo and Sony at the time of the N64 and PS1?

Are you annoyed at the (relative) failure of the Gamecube?

Why didn't you follow the rest of the Goldeneye gang to FRD , and did you notice any of your ideas being used by them in the creation of Timesplitters?
How much input did Miyamoto have with your development on the GC - was he a positive or disruptive influence for you whilst working on the project?
