As far as I'm aware, the page count's the same. Strange to see the letter thinking the mag's gotten thinner, seeing as it's had pretty much the same number of editorial pages since issue 19.

It was waiting for me when I got home
Great looking cover, and I'm really looking forwerd to reading this issue, hardly a plumber in sight! yes
I'll enjoy reading the Crazy Taxi artical as it's my fave game on the DC. Also the Tetris artical as I find the story behind it interesting, and was addicted during the B&W Game Boy era.
I like the look of that Back to the 90's aswell, will that be regular?
My fave thing this month is Stuart Hunt having Alex kidd as his picture

Does that mean it's got 16 legs then?Darran@Retro Gamer wrote:The Making of Sheep in Space
Find out what happens when a four-legged hairy quadropod gets flung into outer space.

Besides it should be quadruped.

Excellent. Input from Braben too. Takes me right back to sneaking into the computer room at school during lunch for a sneaky blast on Planetoid..
Congrats to Stuart on his Crazy Taxi piece.. a thoroughly entertaining read
Hadn't seen Darran's shmup article in GamesTM and was very impressed by it, very well researched and put together piece and I enjoyed it immensely. OK so I'm a bit biased but what the heck.
The Tetris story was fascinating too.. always thought the creator would have been a millionaire by now.. should have invented the Rubik's cube instead
And Sheep in Space being one of my all-time favourite games any Making Of was always going to be wonderful.. great issue all-round methinks.

Well, no. If he'd said "four-legged quadruped" that would be a repetition, but "four-legged quadropod" is fine - whatever a quadropod is...Xesh wrote:Does that mean it's got 16 legs then?Darran@Retro Gamer wrote:The Making of Sheep in Space

Does it mean it has four escape pods? (very useful if you're flung into outer space)

He probably would have been if he'd 1) not created the game on company time, and; 2) not been in the USSR at the time. Still, good to know that Alexey is getting something from his creation, finally, even if it took well over a decade for him to be in that position.mikeb wrote:The Tetris story was fascinating too.. always thought the creator would have been a millionaire by now.

Well, Crazy Taxi was one of the early games for the DC , a console many consider retro - and it is 8 years old.fredghostmaster wrote:Crazy Taxi? I thought this was Retro Gamer? Night Driver, yes. Crazy Taxi, no, no, no.
Having said that , I consider it to be on the very borderline of what is retro
