The complete shoot-em-up guide was originally printed a few months ago in GamesTM. We had a feature fall out at the last minute so I needed to put something in its place relatively quickly.

I don't like reusing old features as a rule, but in this case it was unavoidable. Apologies for anyone who has already seen this in gamesTM.

Crazy Taxi?

I'm sure that will reopen the usual 'what is retro?' argument, but I can't wait to read that! :)

Awesome game.

Not gonna win any awards like that ;)

Looks like another great issue (though I am not keen on the 2 and 3 part articles). Nice cover too.

Seems a touch strange to put space invaders on the front now. People will buy the mag to read the complete history only to find out they've already missed half of it.

Still, I can see the problem, there's nothing else that demands the cover.

Actually 'quadropod' sounds like something from a Minter game ;)

And personally I think that cover looks amazing.

The new design creeping in looks rather natty. However, what's with newbie's image on page 3? It looks very strange and somewhat fanzine-like to have a bunch of Zzap!-like Markie-drawn heads and then one screen-grab 'character' bunged in there.

Stuart started really late in the issue and Mark didn't have enough time to get him drawn up. I actually think it looks really funny and already have plans to replace your image with Mario ;)

Heh.. as iconic as Tetris surely is I can't imagine some magnified pixellated falling blocks making as striking a cover as the 'classic' Invaders art ;)
