Retro Gaming Anthology
Blimey! I had no idea a second RG anthology would be released. Several copies were on the shelves in WH Smith and various independent news agents. Most of them looked in terrible condition - ripped or bent cardboard. I found one that was in perfect condition, only to discover there were small tears on the back cover of the magazine itself. This annoyed me slightly as I like to keep magazines in pristine condition.
The magazine itself is great. A nice combination of previous and new features. The Mario Wacky world feature looks good. I'm looking forward to reading it.

Retro Gaming Anthology
I'm glad I am not the only person surprised to see it. It's the 3rd issue in Imagine's Gaming Elite series. It's £5 for 116 pages.

OK, I'll try and clear a few things up.
Imagine runs a bi-monthly Elite series that in the past has featured the Xbox 360 and Perfect Dark Zero. With many readers of the magazine asking Live for a new anthology, it was decided to release the next Gaming Elite magazine with a retro theme.
This essentially means that it contains features from the first 18 issues of Retro Gamer, albeit with new layouts etc. There are also several new features that have never appeared in RG before.
Hope that clears everything up.

Vindication!
My flu-adled brain isn't working correctly at the moment, so I may be mistaken. The following articles look new:
A lookback on the adventures of Bub and Bob
Arcade classics on mobile phones
Jon Ritman looks back on his games
Commodore 64GS lookback
Whatever happened to Mario's Wacky world
Evolution of NES music
An article on board game conversions
Darran, did you receive any copies of the first RG Anthology when Imagine bought Retro Gamer? Is there any chance it will be made available in the 'back issues' section?
