Got my copy this morning and gave it a quick once over... looks like another superb issue. Looking forward to reading the Worms article since I've just started playing this at lunchtimes with my work colleagues.

One small gripe (there has to be one! ) The look ahead to issue 42 mentions an in-depth look at Doom... there was a "making of" for Quake AND a company profile for id in issue 40 so it seems an odd choice to re-visit them for Doom within a couple of issues...

Anyway, enough complaining about next month's issue   I'm off to look for things to complain about in issue 41...
GAME OVER YEEEAAAHHH!

Not sure what happened in the Space Invaders piece, but this is the screenshot of Prize Space Invaders that was supposed to go in:

You know it's always amazing to me how identical Xenon and Xenon 2 looked.

Page 46 ;)

Actually this is a particularly impressive screw up since it's not actually the same screenshot.

Allow me to take a guess what happens.

You're taking screenshots for an article on Xenon. The first scrshot you name "Xenon.png". Then you think "I'd better take another for safety". So you do so and call it "Xenon2.png".

A week later you check you have a screenshot for every game. "Xenon....Xenon 2....excellent". You then send it in where a sub-editor who's not a bitmap nerd doesn't spot the mistake and assumes quite reasonably but falsely that a screenshot called "Xenon2.png" is Xenon 2.

So you publish the magazine.

Then some twerp on t'internet spots it and writes a near page long post completely needlessly mocking you.

Am I close?

Heh. Always avoid sending more than one screenshot when only one is required ;)

You could subscribe, get it every month, cheaper than the newsies and not have to get stressed out like this...

Not possible... i keep moving around between countries and addresses without any set base... so id just be wasting my money as id be in one place for 6 months then move and have the other issues have to be delivered to ireland or another uk address.. so its just easier to buy it from the one newsagent that stocks it near where i usually am based. That plus i dont want to fill in a form....
