Is there still a need for the GBA?

No, I'd rather have Nintendo concentrate on the DS

I'm affraid I went for the PSP - I do love some of the GBA games I own but I now play them on my PSP rather than the tiny DS screen.

I voted keep it, especially the Micro is a lovely piece of kit, and many of the games are great for the "retro-minded" in that you can jump straight in without having to spend a month learning stuff/watching videos... I still think "Gameboy" sounds very gay though.

It's still an important brand, even if the sales are relatively low.

Can you stop putting "Poll" in the tile of polls, so that they read "[ Poll ] Poll:"? It looks silly.

Its part of the original Handheld series, with out the Gameboy the PSP and DS would have simply never have come to be. In Killing the GBA you will be killing the familiy of machines that gave some of the kids of the nineties their first taste of gaming and made car journeys less crap.
I hate the effing PSP, its nothing but a overhyped turd. I will hold my GBA with pride and hope there will never be a day when the Gameboy franchise is fully laid to rest

Must. Resist. Temptation. To. Add. Poll: 'Poll: should 'poll' be in poll titles for Retro Gamer polls'.

I think the GBA should still be supported for a little while longer - I love my SP to bits. It's everything I want from a handheld... decent display, small cartridges, console folds up nice and small and it includes a rechargable internal battery with decent battery life!

I love my Micro and bought a new game for it only this week.
But do we really still need it, the DS is more than capable of running such titles and the cases the DS games use are nicer, it's much easier to carry a larger number of games around with you at once with the media that the DS uses and I think it is probley about time to start phasing out the machine.

God Darn, I love your views on PS3 + PSP.

Mark my words, one day SONY will make a (videogame related) mistake that kills them.

The PS3 is like a dry run. Think comatose.

The GBA is more or less dead anyway.

I think the reason the DS was called such was to distance it from the established brand of Gameboy. Maybe Nintendo saw it as a risky handheld to bring out. I'm sure they never expected it to take off like it did.

I would agree with Opa about the portability of games etc.

As DS hasnt failed, I could see the DS 2 being re-named as the new Gameboy.
