The person from Magazines Direct that I spoke to on the phone asked me to email them a screenshot of the PayPal transaction for my single issue order as well as the order confirmation email.

Did you happen to pay by PayPal? If so it might be an idea to email Magazines Direct a screenshot of the relevant transaction like I did so they can track it through the PayPal transaction id.

Update to follow when I hear more about my order.
I did pay by PayPal, yes.

And when the first email from Magazines Direct came in asking for more details on my order (including things like order number and address, which were included in my complaint from the very start as I forwarded the confirmation email), I did send them the transaction number and stuff - surely that should be good enough for them to being able to look it up.

That was on 16th September, haven't heard back from then ever since unless you count that automated "did you know you can solve most problems in your account" crap a few days ago.

So I guess I'll start the refund process on PayPal after all, clearly that's the only way left to go then... just great.

And I really wonder when I'll see issue #212 if it'S only now starting to reach UK subscribers, oh well.

Still no magazine here ... this is the slowest it's ever been ... hoping it turns up today. I notice "Magazines Direct" took my quarterly direct debit this morning

My subscriber copy arrived today. Honestly, I'm happy enough as a week isn't any big deal as long as it's not going to be a regular thing.

EDIT: I'm in Northern Ireland, FWIW

Just think if you get your way and have another referendum, you’ll have to choose the international shipping option ;)

Update: Magazines Direct have put me back to Level 1 😀 The standard email about login in to my account to fix my subscription even though I have sent all my details and that I ordered a single issue - meaning I can’t login in as I’m not a subscriber therefore dont have a login.

Enjoyed the Games World article in 212. Watched every show on Sky back then.

Someone on the readers letters pages was asking about What Poke? Magazine.

I do remember them and have 2 hard copies right next to me, they were extremely good for the time. Obtained when I was lucky to have a summer job at the Helston Computer Centre way back when. I did have a 3rd one which was about A4 size and in a pink hue coloured cover, sadly I gave that to my cousin and was never seen again.

Good news is World of Spectrum has 2 scanned here:

Hope the guy gets this message :)

Well, it took its time to get here but it's another fabulous issue.
The Monkey Island retrospective is top notch, and I really enjoyed the article on Pool of Radiance. The piece on Games World was a lot of fun, and I was intrigued by some of the stories in Desert Island Disks from Dan K.itchen. Top work from everyone.

The only downer was bad printing on page 61, looks like the page slipped?

Yeah agreed, that Secret of Monkey Island article is really good. Well done to all involved with that.
