Retro Gamer - Issue 210

I'm surprised there's no thread for this issue yet. I had to create one just to say how great the Tony Pomfret interview is, he's a character, just don't mention Wigan

The Mega Man article was really interesting, I still vividly remember paying what I felt was a lot for my PAL X3 back in the day and now its going for £1100... Likewise stuff like Wily Wars has ballooned in price over the years, I feel so lucky to have gotten the games boxed and complete back in the day, especially as on top of the price hike, the whole repro issues on eBay especially have just gotten worse and worse. Still can't find that damn Chinese LE for X8 on the PC though...

Enjoyed Picture Perfect, is there plans for a follow-up?

Hey Eric, there are potentially things that we could look at in a follow-up to Picture Perfect. What would you be interested in seeing?

Seem to have ended up with a mag backlog. It was the 180 page issue off Official PlayStation that caused it, then an EDGE issue was late so I haven’t been able to start reading this issue and another one is due out next week (so hopefully subs issues a couple of days sooner)

I'd normally post about the new mag. But I've been busy at work and also it's one of 'those' issues that has very little to interest me. Still reading through it though :)

It’s the next Official PlayStation that’s out next week, not RG. My mistake.

Probably anything 8-16 bit. Difference’s between regions & revisions. Most famously are Sonic 1’s scrolling clouds and double spike collisions. Crazy copyprotects & longest passwords. Games with the most disks or amount of tape. Most unusual items packaged with a game. The many screen aspect ratios - square, long, 4:3 etc.

Just for fun - Wallpaper! Best / Worst & do retro games need it?

Ah glad it made you smile Ely. Tony is a good lad. Despite his apparent concern about being associated with Wigan. It's always fun when you interview someone, pose what you think is an insightful question, and they reply with 'did it f***'. Makes the job easy. Cheers for taking the time to post a nice comment.

I loved the interview also, to be honest I'd never heard of him that I recall, despite reading the mag for 180-odd issues. I love it when theres cracking content like that that is a complete suprise, its awesome how the mag can still manage that after so long.

His answers about the staging of scenes in Commercial Breaks doc are brillant.

Just seen the next issue in Tesco, a day before it's supposed to be out.
Any subscribers got theirs yet?
