You Ask The Questions - Tim Kitzrow

Post by merman » Wed Jan 15, 2020 7:23 am

Something a little different for my next In The Chair interview...

Tim Kitzrow is renowned as the voice of NBA Jam, Midway's fast-talking, fast-moving basketball game. Phrases such as Boomshakalaka, He's On Fire! and Is it the shoes? have passed into gaming legend.

He is the only voice actor to have worked on games covering the four major American sports leagues - NBA (basketball), NFL (American Football), NHL (ice hockey) and MLB (baseball).

Tim worked on some classic Midway pinball tables including The Twilight Zone (impersonating Rod Sterling) and Attack From Mars.

Tim is still working in games, including 2017's crowdfunded Mutant Football League (a revival of the classic Mutant League Football).

So if you have some interesting questions for one of the best-known voice-over artists in gaming, get them to me as soon as you can.
I'll be talking to Tim next week, after he returns from a (game) recording session in Seattle.

What were you working on before NBA Jam and how did you end up voicing the game?

if you could voice any other famous line in entertainment, what would that line of dialogue be?
and was there a line that you simply couldn't get a hold of?

Any interesting/funny/controversial lines that never made it to the game?
