Yeah... although I have shrunk it down to 5300 words so far, there's plenty of the interesting (and previously unknown) stuff in there. I may have to do a big DVD extras thread for this one, it was so much fun talking to Stoo.

I'm always curious about why articles have a set number of pages. In instances like this where you have a lot of great content would there ever be a disscussion about getting extra pages and holding back another small article to another issue?

Issues are planned out in advance and then the writers get the Purchase Order for a set number of pages. In this case it was short notice that they needed an interview piece, I suggested Stoo and we just kept talking...

Fair enough, from a business perspective it makes sense, just a shame lots of "stuff" will be edited out to fit it in. I'm sure this goes has always been the case with filling content for magazines.
I'm really looking forward to reading the Stoo interview regardless.

Can a “DVD Extras” article not be included several months later as a follow up piece as there is surely alot of good interview content us readers are missing due to page counts?

I personally am in two minds about follow-up pieces - yes, it would be nice to get more content in, as a reader I would rather see new subjects/interviewees.
