Been reading this today. Great to see Arcade Club finally get a good 6 page look. :D

Balders Gate - awesome! Nice article Mr Mason.
Dizzy - although Dizzy seems to pop up multiple times, I still love the games. Great read.
NeoGeo mini :( £129 for something that isn't as good as it should be... grrrr
Playstation holds no love from me - will read it at some point though.
Spyro - see above.
Gamate - see above above.
In the Chair - brilliant!
Trespasser - I enjoyed it back in the day, nice to see it in RG.

Loads of other great little bits in there this month and the little prezzie was nice to see :)

Now all we need is a fecking CHRISTMAS COVER! Borrucks to the people in foreign lands getting it a month late! Actually, has anyone on RG ever put the question out to the people in lands afar?

The Christmas cover thing is a mystery to me now.

Historically, it might have made sense to do one ru of the mag for the global audience.

Now we have subs covers, they've rather proved that separate print runs are possible.

They could just as easily do a Christmas run for UK stock and another for overseas.

Or just make the subs cover a Christmas one. Judging by the 'tracking lateness' thread, most of the overseas subscribers should get it in time for Christmas 2019.

Dizzy tends to get a lot of coverage in Codemaster retrospectives but there have been surprisingly few features dedicated to his eggcellent games. The RG Index lists only 7 Dizzy items in the past 14 years:

RG169 (Jun 17) - Feature 30 Years of Dizzy,
RG149 (Nov 15) - Classic Moments Fantastic Dizzy,
RG137 (Jan 15) EndGame Dizzy: Prince of the Yolk Folk
RG75 (Mar 10) - Feature Dizzy's Eggshellent Adventures
RG45 (Dec 07) - Making of Treasure Island Dizzy
RG19 (Dec 05) - Classic Game Dizzy,
RG2 (Apr 04) - Fantastic Dizzy: Dizzy History

Just a quick reminder about the lack of a Christmas issue because it comes up every year and we do always try and answer it.

Most of our issues for a long time are out after the 25th of December and I personally feel the 29th of November is far too soon for a Christmas themed cover.
The other is the fact that it will be out of date in other parts of the world (creating three covers is expensive).
The most important however is that Christmas Retro Gamer covers simply don't sell. While I used to love getting Christmas themed covers as a kid, they don't have the same impact with Retro Gamer readers. The last Christmas issue we did was 2011 and it was our worst selling issue for the year. With magazines in such a difficult place at the moment it's just something we're not currently going to be focusing on.

We've already done a Nights Christmas cover for issue 45. It had glitter on it and everything.

I enjoyed the Arcade Club article. If you've never been, you have to go. Such an awesome place.

Disturbingly, issue 45 was 11 years ago, at which point the Saturn version of Nights was just over 11 years old!

I agree with all the other points but not this - I have most of my Christmas shopping done, I've been on a Christmas night out, all the Christmas lights are on around town and the shops having been pushing Christmas since October!

That's fine. It's my personal opinion after all :)

I do like the calendar! If you want to hang it, use a hole punch to put holes wherever you want.
