Re: From the forum: 185
When I got my first retro console in 2001 (& what initialy ignited my ongoing passion for retro gaming) was a Woody 6 switch Atari 2600, It came in the Atari suitcase and in the games section of the case was, among other games, Space Invaders. After getting the machine running at home it was soon thrown in the cartirdge slot & it was the first time I'd ever seen Space Invaders in action.
From Game&Watch to PS2 and Arcade in between, its been so much fun every single step of the way.

It was the coinop original, in the front of a department store. I think I was only 10 or 11 years old. It was the coolest thing I'd ever seen, but it intimidated me so I just watched others play it. Eventually the game was everywhere so I played it a lot. By the time I finally got my 2600, SI seemed old so I didn't ask for it.

Playing on an actual upright arcade machine, in the family room of a pub, somewhere near Llansteffan, whilst on holiday in 1980, aged seven. This was also the first arcade machine I ever played on.
