Ah, Street Fighter... :D

I have a small story for that: Back in the early 90s, I inherited a NES and had some friends with NES and SNES. No one had Sega in Norway really, and PlayStation was far away. I was young (born in 1986), and played this game which I loved that I was sure was called Street Fighter. Absolutely loved it; the fighting in the streets, the thugs with their knives and iron chains, the scrolling style really felt so COOL. 8) And the bosses... Even though I died on the first one more often than not. Yes, there is something wrong with this picture, isn't it. I think this "Street Fighter" might have another name than we kids thought. I think I didn't catch onto this before late 90s, at the earliest.

A nice range of articles, particularly enjoyed the Street Fighter overview and the piece on keeping old games alive.

My fault, sorry!

On the subject...77%? Okay, okay that's fair I guess; it can be a little frustrating but that's what the infinite lives cheat mode and quick save/load is for. I wonder if RG actually completed it though, or found all the secrets?

Just received this in the mail and haven't had a chance to open it yet, but the cover is incredible! I would say this is one of my favorite ever covers of all time, well done who ever is responsible for that.

Am I really reading an article about architectural structures in 8-bit video games? Who on Earth gave that the go ahead? Scraping the barrel a bit.

It was inspired by this forthcoming book on Unbound, all about videogame cities/architecture:

I quite liked it, something different. You missed one of the very early city landscapes though from the bomber type games. Having to destroy buildings in order to land your plane, It's a good job we've learnt to make runways and airports in cities now.

I think the street fighter piece dragged on a bit, Its not a game I'm really that interested in.

I have still got much to read, there still looks plenty more of interest to come.

I haven't seen the non-subs front, but I suspect that will be the winner this month again - the sub version has absolutely nothing but some SF II drawing on the front (a game I have 0 interest in).

Aaaaaand... I hate being right. Newsagent got it Thursday and the white background was swapped for a nicer blue one, plus ofcourse insets with soundbytes from inside.

Surprised RG didn't get the expert on all things Street Fighter 'DarkSydePhil' to add his words of wisdom to the overlong (imo) article. :)

That sounds like Irems Vigilante to me. Final Fight was originally called Street Fighter 1990(before Street Fighter 2 came along).

I will agree. Subs cover is just a stripped down version of non-subs cover with swapped font and a lot of empty space. I thought subs will be getting something special every month but alas it seems like there is only budget for one artwork every month:(

I kinda liked it, but I would have thought it belonging to a pre-Imagine era.
