Thanks Darran, my original subscription copy of issue 177 arrived TODAY in Northern Germany (a full 5 weeks after the on-sale-date). I can also see in my subscription account that a replacement was sent on February, 27th.

From reading the posts above a lot of people are still waiting for even older issues of their subscriptions. I hope you will agree that the situation with overseas subscriptions has become unacceptable. Can you keep us updated what measures are being taken to resolve the underlying problems?

It's not really fun if you read in the magazine about some new gizmo or book just to find out it has already been released and sold out.

My countermeasure now is to look for the illegal PDF of the latest issue in the darker corners of the net. Only takes some minutes instead of weeks of waiting.

My suggestion would be to offer combined PDF/paper-subscriptions or even to send out the PDF (or DRM-equivalent) to subscribers. I know I can buy the latest issue for my Ipad, but I do not want to pay TWICE for the same issue, naturally.

I don't want to be the local party pooper... but c'mon dude. I'm facing this problem since 2017 May (!!!) and not just nothing got any better, but became even worse.
Here's my story, just to let everyone know what an overseas subscriber has been through:
I'm a subscriber since 2012 April and as usual I renewed my subscription in 2017 April 12th. Yes I know I was naïve and dumb; now I've learned my lesson. Anyways, the last issue I've got normally was Issue 170, before the renewal thing. Then nothing for MONTHS, then I've got Issue 175 and that's the latest magazine I've got. So, just to recap, the newest issue is no. 178. Out of 8 Issues, I received 1. 7 is completely gone. And I never got those. Thank God, Mark was able to help, so he got me a spare 172 and 173. But I had to buy two from eBay which cost me:
171: 4.99 GBP + 3.75 GBP shipping: 8.74 GBP
174: 3.95 GBP + 11.59 GBP shipping: 15.54 GBP
Only 2 mags cost me around 24 GBP, and 66.80 is the 13/year subscription. And now I need to buy 176, 177 and 178 too. Love it. Love it so damn much.
Of course, I've never got any refund, never got any extension because of the missed issues (LOL), I actually got blacklisted after I bombarded the so-called "Email Response Team" (what a joke) with my reports. I admit, the last one was really angry, but it's because (guess what) I'm really angry.
So I don't want to demoralize anyone, but since 2017 May, literally nothing got improved, so waiting for some magic to happen is pointless. Like, the email response team told me that they literally can't even prove that they even tried to send the magazines. I'm not even joking right now. And of course they never send me a spare one either, because I don't know, racism? Who knows?
The only option I have now is waiting to win the lottery so I can afford to buy every Retro Gamer magazine from eBay because eBay is way more reliable than the official subscription. In 2018!!! A-freakin-mazing.

#178 arrived in my mailbox in Norway 1st March. Newsagent update when available (nothing as of 3rd March - they have deliveries every Thursday (and put on shelves as they have time)).

Careful now, you don't want Weblaus on the attack ;)

Boy, are you a funny one. I'll certainly not miss that kind of humor when you'll have left.

But I'll explain it nice and slow so you might understand it: As Northway is from Norway - which does count as overseas, doesn't it - this gives us fellow overseas subscribers a useful information that actually helps as a comparison.

And if you read the thread properly, you would see Antiriad's suggestion that a UK SUBSCRIBER post the date they receive their copy as a comparison. There was no mocking, no bias against people overseas and certainly no intent to upset anyone.
I'll give you that I indeed overlooked that, though I object to that condescending "properly" being thrown in there. And I'd argue that there's no point in such a comparison as I'd consider it perfectly normal that UK subs get delivered on or around the store date and overseas subs taking longer, so for the purpose of solving overeas delivery problems, I dare say this isn't of much use while e.g. comparing Norway and Germany should help pinpointing specific problems if Future actually bothers to do so.

And no worries, your fellow UK person is more than happy to mock and upset as seen above.

I haven't checked if the option is actually available for Hungary, but if it is: Have you considered ordering the newer issues from the official website, i.e. My Favourite Magazines as an alternative? I can understand that basically giving Future even more money despite them screwing up is not the most pleasent idea. But while I've sometimes experienced delays with dispatch on a single issue order, the delivery is tankfully routed differently and so far seems to be much faster and more reliable than the subscription has become (of course based on my experiences here in Germany, it took about one week). And with 9 or 10 Euros per issue, they're not too overpriced.

My favourite magazines is where I get mine from. And it was shocking for a while but now has improved to the point where it is about 3-4 days from order to dispatch- then about three weeks roughly from UK to New Zealand. Which is about average delivery time nowadays in this age of less staff doing way more work.
And I do empathise and agree- I should NOT be getting an issue quicker than a subscriber, when all I do is think, yes this one looks good, I get this one, and go on and buy case by case. There are some here from the same area of the world that as subscribers are waiting longer than me, by weeks and almost months, and sometimes not getting them at all. That is just insane.

I will also edit an add on that ordering issue by issue I have NEVER had one lost. There was a patch where it was taking an age- up to a couple of months- but it never got lost ultimately.

Update as of March 3, 2018:

Here is my delivery dates for my last handful of issues, and I'm located in Las Vegas USA:

#173 - Oct 14
#174 - Nov 9
#175 - Dec 8
#176 - Dec 30
#177 - Feb 2
#178 - Mar 2

So is Mark from subscriptions no longer here helping those with problems? My #178 arrived yesterday, but it's beat to hell, so I would like to contact him to get a replacement. If he is no longer here, and if there is no designated replacement, I'll just send a request thru the proper channels and cross my fingers. Getting a replacement was never a big deal, so long as they have stock. But as others have stated, the site may show stock, but CS can't send a replacement(makes no sense).

I'm happy with an extension of one more issue, but I doubt I resubscribe at this point. Even when I get replacement issues, the quality while often better, it was often still in less than great condition. But as I have stated before, the subscription rates where so cheap, I was OK with non perfect issues(beggars can't be choosers). I think I'll just go back to buying local, as it cost more, but I get perfect issues each month for my troubles. I also tried to find out about the old discount codes for US subscribers, to get a really good subscription rate. But a thread was started, and only the OP and myself asked about it, with no replies from anyone. So I'm guessing that is no longer an option.

Even when Future runs subscription deals now, it's nothing close to what it was with the code. At those prices, I'm happy to pay full price. As the small discount is no longer worth the headaches of trying to reach someone, or get replacements. I still can't comprehend how a business has so little care for paying customers, especially when it's clear thru social media and here, how many problems customers have on a regular basis. Mistakes happen, but CS should be the first and last stop, and when that is useless, so is the business. I would truly have to be mental to pay for this privileged again, and at a higher rate of pay, NO THANK YOU!

Thanks Darran, I'm glad to hear he is still here. I'll wait until I hear back then, as it's no rush so long as I know he'll respond at some point.

To be fair though, it's hardly surprising that the joke is wearing thin for many subscribers. It just isn't good enough.

Wow dude!! Thank you very much, I haven't checked if it's avaiable in Hungary or not, but damn, it sounds way better than fishing older issues on eBay for horrendous shipping prices. Thanks for the advise! When this April my subscription FINALLY ENDS I might consider this method instead. I also think it's bullshit that I can't buy any magazines by Future at all in my country, but whatever.
