Very kind- But I won't put my hand up for it due to living on the other side of the planet, I'm sure someone local that missed out would appreciate it. May good fortune and karma come your way for you kindness and nice gesture![]()

I pretty much echo this. The Great Expectations feature was great, but the Rasputin feels like it's a couple of pages light.Eric wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 1:53 pmRasputin making of is only two pages, was it cut down? Gyruss too, looks out of place as a single page.
Mario Sunshine looks to have eaten up the pages for a newish retro title.
Nice to see Unconverted and Whatever Happened To features back. Bonus pay to who printed the SNES Mini at "actual " size!![]()
Oh, and someone needs to tell the writer of the Sierra feature that Conquests of Camelot and Legend of Robin Hood aren't 'based on real events in history!'

Got my copy (173) of RG - or Official Nintendo Magazine!
It was only just delivered to WHSmiths. The guy in store said that he thought they were waiting until all previous copies were shifted before sending out the current issue and that they'd never had such a late delivery. Any truth?
Nothing much of interest but I was interested in the SNES mini review.
Mostly positive - no mention of chronic slowdown?
Starfox 2 - "the jewel in the crown". Seriously? It's arguably the weakest game included.

I am going to talk to my colleague about this and see what has happened here. Will update when I know more regarding delivery time to WHSmiths

Just got off the phone to distribution about this. Everything was sent out at the usual dates etc. so there shouldn't be any late deliveries to shops.subscriptions wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2017 5:20 amI am going to talk to my colleague about this and see what has happened here. Was someone a bit naughty with borrowing an image from Moby Games? I don't know if you have some standing arrangement with them though.
Re: Retro Gamer issue 173
I don't doubt it but something else must have went wrong somewhere along the line.subscriptions wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2017 10:13 amJust got off the phone to distribution about this. Everything was sent out at the usual dates etc. so there shouldn't be any late deliveries to shops.
It didn't appear in any WHSmith's/Tesco or ASDA (5 different shops in my area) before the 19/20th

If you private message me your details, I will pass that on to the guys I spoke to...something seems amiss here.stvd wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 4:04 amI don't doubt it but something else must have went wrong somewhere along the line.subscriptions wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2017 10:13 amJust got off the phone to distribution about this. Might have been an issue with the mags once they left our distribution centre.

The Sierra Online article was superb - thought it managed to capture the spirit of what went on really well, and included a fair bit I had never heard of before, despite being an obsessive fan since the 90s.

Thanks for the spot, we don't allow freelancers to use watermarked images so I'll look into it. I must have missed that one.
Re: Retro Gamer issue 173
Time for a bit more in-depth commentary again.
LS: Everything I don't enjoy playing, but that doesn't make the writing any less interesting.
Sierra: Kinda weirdo, but still interesting.
Books: Great idea. Should be enough material for another one? You missed out The Colour of Magic IIRC.
Emerald Isle: Interesting that it was an external submission. And otherwise too. IF is my kinda thing.
CD-i: Talk about development hell! Just the kind of stuff I love to learn. But what was that about the font colour bleed at the top of page 82?
Rob: Interviews are just the best there is.
Recommended.
