Sorry the board is temporarily unavailable.....
Got my issue today - still in its wrapper as, well, its 2.45am and the rattling caused by the usual excitement would wake the kids up.
Some interesting sounding articles there though, although I am not the biggest fan of Donkey Kong.

Looks a great issue this one, especially interested in reading the King of kong stuff. Saboteur (or II) is always welcome too! Will be nice to get pumped up for the mini SNES release too

Just bought it from WHSmiths and now going to have a milkshake at Coffee Corner. First thing I've bought on my own as a matter of fact!

Good to see there's younger people on the board too and not just us old farts.

Yeah, retro gaming is for any age in my opinion! My interest in old games started when I was 3 and owned a SNES.
Also the content is really good so far but page 28 (R-Type first page) is really fuzzy text for some reason... page 31 is even worse (white text almost unreadable on black bg)

Those pages are perfect print for me, although a few small cuts and dents from posting - "its the plastic bags I tell ya!"
The full page Golden Joystick ad placed directly inside Retro Round seem odd - shame to break up Retro Round section just for it to return with a half page Pick Of The Month.
Would like to see the removal of the OLD! gfx from the cover - always felt that it detracts from the particular style of that months cover theme. Also no need for Minority Report to have the Retro Stinker circle. I don't like the use of circle box outs at all (specially if the obscure a screenshot) but shame a bad game here should be dropped in line with Retro Shamer was.
Great to see the return of The Unconverted since issue 138 and with no ads inserted breaking it up that happened a few occasions.
From the Archives seems to new at first glance. Will see how I feel after reading but first I'm off to count those circles - must be better name for them?

Haha, I haven't seen more than 1 or 2 other pages with strange printing, at least. My favourite article so far is the one on SNES Mini.
If I had to change it I think the OLD! GFX should be replaced with the month and year like "8/17" although I really love the fact it's there to mimic "NEW!" on magazines or news articles.
The Unconverted was a very good read and I hope to see it again in future mags.

I'm guessing it's the ZX that R-Type is pushing?
DK Jr is the better game though.

Yes, it's Bob Pape's excellent ZX conversion in Pushing the Limits
Will be putting up a DVD extras thread for the Simon Phipps interview in the next week, there's a lot of extra material.

Sadly probably the most boring issue for me. The SNES mini and pocket station articles are all that really interested me. Ah well, can't win every issue!
