I have a couple of speccys in my gaming den (along with a few C64's and loads of other stuff). I was never a speccy fan as a kid but do like using the little computer nowadays.
I must admit to emulating most of the time though.

Always found it amusing at school back in the 80's. There were loads of kids with C64's and loads with Spectrums but ALWAYS a spotty fat kid with glasses that had either an Amstrad or and Atari.

I enjoy the Spectrum today by playing the Commodore 64 conversion of Head Over Heels.

I still love my Spectrum and it's still fun to play today, although it's mostly being fed newer releases.
And when I say "it" I mean through emulation as I can't be bothered to take out any of my real Spectrums.
Most of my enjoyment these days comes from coding it though.

I play the Speccy via emulation these days, rather than going round my mates house! And I'm still trying to complete Booty for the first time!

Never really liked the speccy as a kid (just remember glarry colours on a black background). However due to Retro Gamer have grown to really like it and usually play a few games via emulator after they have been covered in the mag.

I still use my 128k +2 to play games occasionally (from the 800 or so I own  ) , but most of my gaming is done via emulation these days! I was looking forward to the Next, but can't afford one any time soon...

Dare I mention the Vega+ ?! I was seriously looking forward to seeing it emerge, but looking more unlikely as time passes.
Let's mention it.....

JXD for me - I was a C64 kid, but have fond memories of the early classics on friend's speccies.

I enjoy the Spectrum EVERY day! I mostly play via emulation, but I also still enjoy firing up my cherished 48K!

I grew up with the Spectrum, first the 48K (rubber keys) then the 128K+2A. Just recently grabbed a +3 and it was an amazing feeling! Just like Christmas! Complete in the box! :)
Have to replace the drive belt, though. Simple procedure ;)

Never actually played any spectrum games or the system, I must be missing out. I mostly prefer the 8-bit and 16-bit console era, if I'm honest, but I'm always up for giving things a try so what can you recommend? Particularly looking at underappreciated gems :)

After years of just using emulation I now have a permanent Spectrum +2 set up next to the old CRT TV that has a DIVMMC Future attached to it. I use that more now than an emulator. There's something about the slight fuzziness the TV adds to the graphics that makes the experience more genuine. The display on an emulator is just too clear. You can see each pixel. I also have my old favourite joystick, a Konix Speedking, connected to the interface so playing games is just like how I did it in the 80s - minus the waiting around for games to load, which I can happily live without, and the inevitable 'R: Tape Loading Error, 0:1' ! :) I am also working on the graphics for a Spectrum arcade conversion and a Spectrum related PC game. I spend almost as much time doing Spectrum related things as I did in the late 80s.

By waiting patiently for a PAL television to be delivered over here, in Canada...

I have all other components (220v transformer, UK plug adapter, tape player), but still no suitable TV for it...

Mostly just emulation on the PC since I got rid of my specy+

Although I did just obtain an Amstrad E-mailer for 99p
Don't know if that is hack-able to run specy games without the service :D

Here's the latest in the Vega Plus saga:

Again, you've got to take the "few weeks" comment with a pinch of salt given how they've missed more deadlines than most of us have had hot dinners.
