Post by Shinobi » Wed Jun 15, 2016 5:57 pm

Had this through today and I'm sure everybody will like the Out Run cover :D

I've only read the Mr Do article as the game is a old favorite and the Games featuring Clowns(can we mention that word)

Other then Out Run

Got mine this morning too... been a busy boy though so it is still sealed in its packaging. Sounds like a great issue though!

Nice redesign of Future Classic - Reduced the browns with more black text and a splash of colour with the red intro text and "Things of note" box out headings. I would like to see the rg cover in full colour here though.

No underpants adverts! :)

Excellent issue this month.

Can't believe I had forgot about Probe!!

They did a fantastic job of Smash TV on SNES - can't believe it didn't get a mention!

Haven't read it yet, been on holiday and moved house, but I love the cover. I don't suppose we could see what it looked like just as the OutRun with nothing else on? (If such a version existed).

It's not a very close clone, but for me, on the Speccy, this was the closest thing I had to Mr. Do, from the Spectrum Computing tape-magazine:

Though you could just as easily say it's a Boulderdash clone.

You don't have a weapon in it. And it suffers from the same thing a lot of cheaper clones of the game do - if you make two tunnels side-by-side, there is no dividing wall left. The only one I've seen that does is the more recent Farmer Jack in Harvest Havoc!, though that has a slightly annoying change-direction behaviour.

With Probe creating close to 250 games over 20 years, not everything could get a mention...

Good issue, any issue covering Outrun is a must have for me.

Another clown you could have mentioned in the Mr Do! article is Kid Clown on the SNES.

Loved this issue, especially the Outrun, Gravitar and Alladin articles. But ultimate fave was the piece on Universal Hero as still love playing this game.

Loved the GBA article. The Micro was always (and still is) my favourite version though. Maybe it's my slim, girlish hands

Been done for a few days, but time for some comments now.

Front: Did the designer listen to me for once? This one has a perspective/viewpoint that works well IMO. An interesting, very low placed point of view. I thought the rest as a whole also looks good.
Outrun good. Universal Hero good.
Mr Do: Very good. There was a C= 64 version of Mr Dig AFAIR.
Probe: Good of you to be on the ball.
Gravitar: I don't think I have played this. Seems I have been missing out. Very good.
Aladdin: Good stuff.
JRPG: And here I was reminded again why I hate RPGs... did nothing for me.
GBA: You didn't say if the Micro is backlit (it is AFAIK?). Not bad.
Hydro Racer: Coin-ops are never wrong. Surprised to see three of them in the same issue.
DID: Excellent as always. Any chance of some "extra material" on the (June 1984) Jet Set Willy level issue?
And next month seems to have some great stuff waiting.

All in all a real quality issue. I think you kinda hit a summer wibe too to go with the time of the year?

Still reading - enjoying very much so far. The Gravitar article - very interesting to read, and love all the arcade flyer artwork, but the screen shots are a waste of time - the small ones are really hard to see and make out. I'd rather see fewer, larger screens.

Aladdin article was fun - I didn't know the SNES & Mega Drive games differed that much! I've got the SNES one, I'll have to get the MD one too now :)
