Bah humbugs! Unlikely to be a delivery on Saturday, so looking like Monday at the earliest assuming the postie does his rounds on a Bank Holiday... :(

So, what did I think?

Really well presented. Yes, it's a big list feature - but with plenty of developer input and interesting angles on the subject matter. Plus details on where it was in the last reader vote, along with other games in a series and some stats analysis (best developer, percentage of votes etc). The big tick list at the end is good too - I've played well over a hundred of them.

The features were good to read too, enjoyed Inside The Commodore 64.

Just arrived. First thing I've noticed is that the Homebrew section has been axed & the top 150, which seems to comprise of Mario & Nintendo takes up 90% of the mag.

I'm normally a cheerleader for the mag, but to say I'm underwhelmed is a bit of an understatement.

Ah well, can't all be golden, I hope the Homebrew section makes a return.

I was thinking exactly this when reading it today. So many sections and features are missing from the magazine its ridiculous. The 150 greatest games may sound good in principle but in reality its just a boring list that takes up half the magazine. We've read it all before too. And another Mario article two months after there was pretty much a whole Mario issue! Really? It feels really lightweight this month like its not all there.

Also i'm a bit tired of seeing the RG team mugging it up for the camera. Its ok occasionally but it seems every other article in the last few issues has featured them showing how much fun you have playing old games. I know it sounds miserable but this month you even removed the game ending feature on the last page to show more wacky pictures of yourselves. Enough already. I'd rather the space was used for game screenshots than snaps of the editorial team.

Got my issue today. Damn that 150 game article was HUGEEE. Yeah was a bit weird not having some old favourites in but it is a one-off. Impressive as anything to get to 150 issues so congrats to the team.

Looking at the list i cant believe some people voted games from 2 years ago (Last of us) to feature in a list of the top 150 games in a retro mag, clues in the 'retro' name !

Love the cover as well. Remember like it was yesteryear 10 years ago when Merman was showing me an early issue of the first RG mag from Imagine back at a small retro show in Kenilworth

Home brew will be back next issue.
It's going to have a slight redesign too, so hopefully the wait will be worth it.
Personally last of us should have been in the top 10, but I'm glad it's in there.
The list is votes by readers so we can only convey what everyone voted for.
Sorry you didn't like the pictures of us mugging. I don't remember people moaning about it when crash and zap used to do it, but appreciate it's not for everyone. It's not everyday a mag lasts as long as RG though, and it's always nice to have fun on your birthday. Also lots of people have asked for a behind the scenes so that's what we gave you :)
Oh and there were contemporary games in the last poll, so tlou is totally valid. We asked for the greatest games of all time, not the best retro games (although we knew they would make up the lion's share of the votes).
