I was around 10 or 11
My little sister gave me a present, it was Gryzor for the amstrad. I already had the game but thought I lost it weeks before, but she had tried to find a tape to do some recording and ruined the game. She never told anyone and at that age never really got much pocket money so saved a few pennies everyday to buy me a replacement. she started crying when she gave it to me explaining what happened. I still get upset thinking about that.

That's just a lovely story. If you see your sister this Christmas, please tell her she is a beautiful human being. Sorry, have to go now, I've got something in my eye...RodimusPrime wrote:I was around 10 or 11

My 40th and getting my xbox 360. I'd drifted away from gaming but had dug my ps2 out.
My other half, who hated gaming then, totally surprised me by getting an old friend to pay a surprise visit and a 360.
And with that I fell back in love with gaming. .and cost me a fortune in the process!
My other half bow tolerants gaming and even encourages me to buy stuff

I don't remember getting many gaming presents for my birthday, it seems to be mostly a Christmas thing, but one that sticks in my mind for some reason is my Dad getting me Hard Drivin' for the Lynx. An excellent conversion of the arcade game (that my Dad loved incidentally) and was my favourite Lynx game for a while.
