Retro Gamer - Issue 139

Post by RodimusPrime » Sat Feb 28, 2015 11:02 am

Really great. Everything was of interest, from the Nes top 25, to the Road rash article, and especially the Amstrad GX4000 minority report ( great job Laird ).

Loved the cover, and I am genuinely having to force myself not to read it as I want to read it on the train when I go away tonight. Superb stuff.

The URL for the survey is incorrect though - maybe it's also an intelligence test?

Nope it's a mistake on my part. Will change for next issue.

Wasn't expecting it so early!

Quick flick thru, looking forward to reading the Resi Evil article.

Just received my copy, I must admit to not liking the cover.

I have only started reading the mag but I enjoyed the piece on Big Mac for the C16, a very good platformer and a nicely written article.

Cover is great, matching it with the back cover doubles the fun. The little peak through to inside the mag at the bottom corner is a nice addition too. For full authenticity maybe printing the cartridge label on to a real cart could have been fun. Going to look for a giant Nes to put the mag in and see what game it plays!

Batman, GX4000, Road Rash, Sonic R, RCA Studio II, Titus and the return of Lost In Translation. Great Stuff.

For those that haven't seen the cover:

A lot of stuff I can't wait to read in this issue, especially the article on the RCA Studio II and I like the look of the Road Rash, Titus and Sonic R articles too.

Hope everyone enjoys my piece on the Studio II, that's the first time anywhere the story of its creation has been told.

That's a great cover. I'm sure I'll have zero trouble spotting this issue on the shelves!

I too think the cover is great. One of my favourites actually!

Nice amount of content here that I'm looking forward to digging into. Sonic R has always interested me for some strange reason, and the Making of Resident Evil Remake looks great. Good job!

I have to join in with the positivity for the cover. A really nice surprise when I opened the envelope. Great idea and execution!

Looks another good issue too.

I can see that cover working for NES fans, but it does nothing for me. Its well executed enough for the NES portion of the mag, it's a good enough concept, but all the stuff I'm actually interested in for this issue is lost in the black on grey text, squished onto the bottom of the page. Still, the content more than makes up for it.

I like the cover.

I really enjoyed Marty's story of the RCA Studio II, and Mark Healey's In The Chair interview was fascinating. (Apologies for hogging the You Ask The Questions box, but some very interesting answers in there!)
