Right... That does it! The language on this forum is awful and I hold RG to blame! I'm never going to buy the magazine again!
That's it you have a laugh at my expense. My life is hanging by a thread and you make a joke.

Oh the pain...
Can't you hurry up and get on with it? But before you do, make sure to box up the 360 and TV and call Fedex will you?
Hey, Sweden!

before Dudley gets it....

But by subscribing you get it for Half price, so you would have to be very unlucky to lose out.

Point taken - and since the mag is curently better than ever I may well re-subcribe at the beginning of next month.

So there you go Darran - a new subscriber to replace the one Dudley upset. All is well. :)

At first I must admit I wasn't that bothered about them but they seem to have become stronger in recent months. One in particular asking to "Text TITS" to blah blah blah......

No other games magazine (that I read) has these types of adverts.
Games tm from the same publisher seems to be devoid of these adverts so what's the difference.
CraigGrannell wrote:but what attitude Retro Gamer has taken? As far as I know, the only person to have commented on the ads is Darran, and
The forum is Retro Gamer is it not?
The idea of a For Sale area is not looked on favourably as there may be legal issues with the mag. So is the forum connected to the mag or not?
If it is (and I believe it is) then surely submitting an online petition would/should reach them the same way.

BTW would flooding the Retro Gamer home page with porn ads not rake in vital revenue. Surely they could be removed from the mag and stuck on the home page. No?

Um. Man, you must either have a very odd version of Jeff's games or some pretty interesting drugs.

GNH! HNNNG! *brain EXPLODES*

Right, here it is in plain black and, erm, light grey:

- This forum is owned by Imagine Publishing, and therefore they have to be a bit careful about what goes on here.
- The people who run Imagine Publishing are extremely busy, and don't have time to mess around on forums. (Total number of posts from editor-in-chief Simon: 1, as far as I recall.)
- Even Darran doesn't have enough time to post here, and I'm pretty sure he's cloned himself in order to be able to do so.

The forum is connected to the mag, yes, but that doesn't mean that if everyone types "I want a free pack of Wotsits with the next issue of Retro Gamer or I'm cancelling my subscription" that Damien and co. are going to ever see that.

Plus it's very easy to type a forum post.

Actually putting pen to actual paper is much more work and actually indicates they might mean it. Anyone posting "OR I'LL CANCEL" on here is probably lying.

I want Dudley to put an actual pen to actual paper (and not the crayons he usually uses) OR I'LL CANCEL!

If Darran wasn't bothered about our concerns , he wouldn't have fixed the porn spambot infestation we had. He has said on at least one occasion that he is not happy about having porn ads in the mag

I think that -all things being equal - the vast majority of us here would prefer gaming adverts or extra content rather than porn ads in the mag , but it ain't Darran , or any of the staff writers fault , that they continue to appear in the mag

I'm sure Darran can ,and has , made suggestions to Imagine's advertising department regarding our concerns , but at the end of the day he's got a hard enough job finishing the mag each month , let alone worrying about what ads might appear in it
Mr Flibble says...
"Game over , boys!"
