Anyways, did those games get a feature on their own. All my RGs are buried somewhere at the mo.
Same here - we could really do with an index or cataloguing of the games /systems featured in the mags
As if by magic... http://www.retrogamer.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4963 I'm sure if a few willing volunteers were able to dedicate half an hour to cataloging a single issue each, it wouldn't take too much individual effort to create a thread with an index of the content of the entire back-catalogue... I'm happy to do a couple of issues to get the ball rolling (I'd have to start at issue 2 as I don't have the illusive issue 1!) although it might be worth agreeing a standard format for documenting each issue... something to think about at least.

As for the topic of this thread, I'd love to see a making Millenium 2.2 and its sequel, Deuteros:The Next Millenium - 2 very atmospheric and absorbing strategy/God games on the ST and Amiga. Sadly, I don't think either game was popular enough to warrant an article in RG. Both games were the work of Ian Bird... ah, the days when a single programmer could craft a game exactly how they envisioned it to be. :D
Argh, I just seen the other thread. Wish I did that earlier because...

I thought I would to start to ensemble an online guide to old Retro Gamer mags. I have put the first issue guide up online here The page doesn't have any links active yet but it's just to give you an idea. Let me know what you think or if I'm wasting my time as the other thread seems to be doing the outline as it is!

Some of the "classic" Elite and Ocean games on the Speccy, such as:

Kokotoni Wilf
Roller Coaster
Street Hawk
Knight Rider
Transformers
Daley Thompson's Decathlon

of course also Bruce Lee, Splitting Images/Split Personalities and Hypersports would be VERRRY welcome!

Hmm, Special FX as a team/label might make a good subject for an article...

I like what you've done there cheeky_muffin! Looks very good for an "amateur"! :D

I'll send you a PM about what I've tried to start off with the other thread, maybe we can collaborate to come up with a useful index.

The titles and images could use a bit of cleaning up though, or are you just using them as placeholders for now? :?

Yes (wink wink lol) Just to get me out of that :)

Good web design isn't my thing though as I never really followed it through. I will be working on some better menu designs. The idea was just a rough guide to see any potential.

If anyone is any better at doing some better title images on the page. I need to scan the magazines at a higher rate anyway then please let me know and I will credit anyone that helps.

I'd love to see a feature on Kokotoni Wilf
Great name,great game

Also surely a Brian Bloodaxe feature HAS to be done - one of the most innovative platformers , and full of Pythonesque humour

Frank is THE MAN!

What a great little game that is. Graphics are great for a game arounf that time, they actually look like chariots.
Just in case anyone is interested in trying this one out...

A feature on Text Adventure games on the Speccy would be very nice.

e.g. The Hobbit, Lord Of The Rings, Robin Of Sherwood etc.

Also, a feature on the company 'Masteronic' would be cool as well.

Mastertronic was featured way back in issue 2...
Delta 4 (Robin of Sherwood) have also been profiled

As an alternative to Tank / Plane battle, that I mentioned, how about the original version, Combat on the Atari.
Still one of the finest 2 player games ever!!

Get Dexter on the Amstrad - the pinaccle of isometric gaming

Co-vote for Split Personalities. Great game, although I played it on the CPC not the Speccy. Any platform would be fine. Nice story there too, about them having to pull it under the name 'Splitting Images'.

Berzerk - the arcade machine. Discovered it at Game On.

Mutant Monty - simple early CPC game with subtle complexity in the level design

Jet Boot Jack - fine, fine, platform game from Amsoft.
