Jap computer coverage question

Are there any issues which covered the Japanese Computers in-depth, especially the PC98 and X68000?

Looking back, we did an Obscura Machina feature on the X68000 in issue 96, and followed up with a Minority Report for the system in issue 126.

It doesn't look like we've done anything on most of the other machines, including the PC88 and PC98. Certainly something to consider for the future...

Yeah, there's not been a lot of coverage of Japanese computers. Aside from my X68 Minority Report, though, I wrote a 'Japanese Warriors' special for issue 129, which featured games on the PC-9801, X68000 and MZ-700. Plus, the PC-8001 and MZ-80K were two of the systems covered in my History of Seventies Home Computers piece in issue 115.

On a related note, however, longtime RG freelancer John Szczepaniak has an awesome book out just now called The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers, which I highly recommend.

Thanks for the info. An detailed article on the PC98 and PC88 would be great. The only Japanese games computer which gets really good indepth coverage is the MSX.
