What happened to the alternate covers thing. One of my favourite bits of the mag was seeing what the cover could have been :(

Sometimes we have covers nailed down early so other ideas aren't worked up - that was definitely the case with 131 and 133, but I can't remember if that was the case for 132.

For those that haven't yet seen it, here's the cover:

We're kind of running out of Atari hardware now, so don't expect any in the next few issues.

A shame, I'm interested in Atari stuff, probably because I've never owned any Atari hardware...

BTW like the cover.

I offered to send him my GX4000 with loads of games as a joke. He actually seemed keen on the idea.

Please keep this thread on topic. Taking the mickey out of individual freelancers isn't that helpful.

Is the Atari 7800 article about the development of the 7800 or about good games and accessories for the 7800?
I hope it is the latter as I think we have heard the story of the 7800's development quite a few times now.

No-one is taking the mickey. I had a genuine conversation with keiran and he did actually say he would like to do a peice on the GX4000. And I did actually offer him a loan of a console with 20+ games if he ever found the time to do it.

Both. There is a bit of the history there, but uncovering lots of information that was not in Marty's article a few years ago such as the UK/European side of things. It also covers arcade conversions, exclusives and recent homebrew development (hardware and software) as well as interviews with various people.

I would happily do an article on the GX4000, I have done plenty of non-Atari stuff before - PC Engine, Archimedes, ColecoVision and various From The Archives articles for example. I was actually playing a load of GX4000 games at Revival this weekend just gone.

I don't quite get the Did You Know box on page 60 - it just seems to reiterate what the timeline says?
