Well, I didn't have many games for my grey slob back then, but here it goes:

1. Boxxle - had ages of fun with this one!
2. The Blues Brothers - That sound track...!
3. Turrican - I died and died on the first level, and tried again!
4. Wario Land - Being a greedy bastard never was as fun!
5. Pokemon Yellow - It came late, but I played it on my trusty old grey brick...

Super Mario Land

I played that game to death, and more!

I also enjoyed Wario Land, BeetleJuice, F1 & the Mega Man series

Memories are fading now, but Gargoyles Quest was superb.

Donkey Kong Land 2 just purely for how the graphics rocked and the gameplay was identical to the SNES Country but 8-bit, genius!

Honourable four mentions go to

Battletoads in Ragnaroks World for sheer difficulty
Pokemon red/blue for longevity
Donkey Kong Land 1 for similar reasons to second one
Mario Land 2 for similar to pokemon

1 tetris
2 super mario land 2
3 mortal kombat 2
4 double dragon 3
5 golf classic

Tetris is the best game on the game boy i loved it on nes as well but it was perfect for game boy as it would and still will make a long journey fly by other games that desvere a mention are super mario land 2 which is the better then the amazing super mario land 1 if you ask me, mortal kombat 2 which was a huge improvement over the first mortal kombat on game boy(which was aweful apart from the music), double dragon 3 which i think pushed the syetem to it's limits in some aspects(unless thats just false memory) and golf classic which for me is one of the best 8 bit golf games ever.

I liked a few things on the Game Boy but the stand out title for me was Game & Watch Gallery 3. The games included were a bit of a mixed bag but there were some great ones on here and there was an incentive to play them all and do well on them because that unlocked more games.

The classic version of Donkey Kong Jr and the updated version of Turtle Bridge were my favourites. Both were incredibly addictive and you were always on the edge of disaster. Proper old-school skill-based gaming.

Also good;

Kirby Pinball
Bomb Jack

Been playing tons of Batman the last week (The early game a bit like Mario Land), hard as nails ! Would never complete it if it wasnt for saving/loading constantly when i die. To think there was no battery backup for this game !
