forum issues

Post by snowkatt » Thu Jan 24, 2013 5:50 pm

alright then here is some feedback

when is the forum getting fixed ?

its timing out at every occasion
connection errors its dog slow and an all aroudn nightmare to even so much as browse let alone post
it also was regulalry totally unreachable at times for hours ( not sure how that is these days )

and we the users hear NOTHING about how long this is going to take or if its going to be fixed at all

there is an 8 page thread in off topic with no so much a peep off a mod
hey wait ! i got a new complaint !

I'd like to add that trying to get this to work on a Nexus 7 is like playing lethal enforcers with a banana

It is a severe pain in the backside. I PM'd Darran days ago about it but not had a reply. I'll try something else.....

Decided to find the forum's (apparent) IP address, see if I could find out anything i.e. if there was a server page with info, etc.
Turns out there is a main page, but it's not server information, just one line of text.

Mojo-jojo.

EDIT: On link-scraping, I found a fair few adverts which return invalid responses. Theoretically, depending on what the responses are and how the server handles them, it could crash the page instance. Most likely not that, though. tracert to the forum is also fine.

Bumpity bump.

Having been posting again more over the last few days, I've really noticed forum problems that never used to be there too. Had a borked page that didn't load properly earlier (like Koops posted above) and I'm frequently losing connection and having to hit 'Try Again' or just reload the page to get to where I want to go.

It's garbage and needs sorting out.

Coupled with the SPAM, it's starting to become one of my least favourite places. At least the conversation is occasionally lively.

In the other thread Darran stated, "The digital guys are trying to sort this. They hope to have it in hand for end of next week."

He posted that a fortnight ago today. :?

Having really bad trouble with it this morning, having to refresh all the time and if posting often having to do it 2-3 times!

Was going to say it's been behaving itself a little better for me recently, but still far from 100% It can be damn frustrating when it happens straight after you try to post something; I've taken to copying my messages now just in case. Grrr.

EDIT: Just like now, in point of fact! :|
