So many to choose from with over 500 released on PAL format alone - but if I had to narrow it down to just x1 it'd be Streets of Rage 2 - superb gameplay, fantastic soundtrack - great single-player and even more fun with a friend playing through multi-player

I've always had a soft spot for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for its brilliant bonus stages, but the excellent platform\blasting action of Vectorman pips Sonic 2 to the post.

Had a great Xmas & New Year, thanks hope you had too.
Could I be greedy & have 3?
If so, Thunderforce 3, ToeJam and Earl & Sonic 2.

Without doubt Streets Of Rage 2, not just the best Mega Drive game ever but, for me anyway, the best game ever made full stop.

Madden 93 Championship Edition !
Had every Madden game for the Megadrive before they stopped doing them (And then for the Playstation !).
Loved this game, played it tons specially the 93 CE version. So playable. Main reason i bought a Megadrive

I had an Amiga at the time, so I was lucky I had a much better machine
The Megadrive game I've played the most is Outrun 2019, fast enjoyable racer, forking roads, etc... very good for a quick play.

I always loved Aladdin, super gameplay added to great graphics and sound made it a cut above other platformers.

NHLPA Hockey '93 An excellent Ice Hockey game, many hours were had playing this game alone and with mates.
I also loved the Streets of Rage series the gameplay, the graphics, the music all set the mood of a gritty street beat em up.

When I first got my UK Megadrive from Virgin, I had Japanese imports of Thunderforce III and Super Shinobi.
I used to take the 2 screws out of the cartridge and just plug the rom chip into the Megadrive - I am surprised I never fried myself.

ooooh tough one, personally it's neck and neck between sonic 2 and road rash 2.i'd be happy enough being stuck on a desert island with only one of these, with a console,a tv and the means to power it all obviously.

Another sports game for me too, Park Place Productions' EA Hockey. This game turned ice hockey games into sweet medicine for fans. It's brilliantly playable and so accessible in contrast to PPP's awesome John Madden Football. I still play this game. It's thoroughly enjoyable and with Rob Hubbard behind the great music and realistic effects it's not hard to see why I've yet to find an ice hockey game I enjoy as much.

The Revenge of Shinobi. This has to be my favourite Mega Drive game and I loved every moment of it - unique ninja skills, great level designs, incredible BGMs and some rather odd boss battles that included the likes of Spiderman, Batman and Godzilla.
Re: From The Forum issue 112 Mega Drive
Mercs, even though it was single player ,(compared to the arcade cabs three player fun) I still loved it , Plus! it included an RPG-lite extra game that was totally massive and completely unique.Oddly enough , despite it getting high scores at the time ,one of the Meg' magazines took a dislike to it for frankly no reason I've ever been able to work out gave it a terrible review which featured the line "tired old s**t which shouldnt be done anymore"I guess they must REALLY have been bad at it!
