Renegade will be first to be read. Like the flip cover, will it be just a one off?

Really doesn't seem that long since 107!

Just a flick through myself, it's quite hit and miss for me this month but still some stuff I can't wait to read. I love the cover especially though.

I haven't done a train spotter for ages now but one big mistake just lept out at me:

Next month: Mode 7 Heaven - We take a look at the greatest SNES games to utilise the machine's fancy sprite scaling techniques in Nintendo's much loved 16-bit console.

The SNES can't scale sprites, only background layers/bitmaps

This is true.
I just checked the wiki page on Snes Mode 7.

Yeah that was me. I just always call it sprite scaling. Always have.

I thought the Before Video Games article was absolutely brilliant, and very interesting and refreshing.

However the letters page is looking sparse again, surely people are sending you interesting items to print there? or did you not get my email

it arrived this morning - looks good. More in it for me than last month. liking the broken sword/kickstarter article - any chance of making this semi-regular - highlighting the cool retro projects that we can back?

Loving the Psygnosis cover this month! Great article too regarding them too, some truely great games they published...
Before videogames looks interesting will read that later.
Retro Crypt did nothing for me as I've never had a big thing for horror games or films for that matter.
Nice D.I.D article and WB3 pages, my fav game on the MS!
Ho hum to Final Fantasy not for me I'm sure others will love it.
Looking forward reading the Konix article looks a good read, same for the Renegade and Doom articles.

Overall after a quick read looks a great issue this month...nice work :D

Oh liking the improved retro revival pages with more screenshots on the right hand side complementing the main pixelated image.

Mag looks brilliant.. the twin cover is AWESOME.. really good work guys.. both covers are great!

Haven't read much of the issue yet but there seems to be quite a few interesting articles. I look forward to reading the Renegade and Psygnosis features.

HOWEVER.. I was very very disappointed to see that Super Amazing Wagon Adventure was not reviewed as Darran said it would be in issue 108 (i know it had a teeny tiny mention in issue 106 I believe but it's so good I thought it would get more coverage). The homebrew games covered by jason were utter garbage. There really needs to be someone else on board doing this section as the xblig games he chose were utter crap (and it's not just my opinion, the games had 2 star ratings) Pacific Wings, Maze of Apes, 2012 ?? seriously, this si the best he could do? You might as well start reviewing avatar beer felch, or anime beach bubble babes (and other abominations) and be done with it.

Where were:

Gateways, SNOPS Attack Zombie Defense, Diehard Dungeon, Qrth-Phyl, Brimstone.. or any of the other games that are actually good games?

I've written about XBLIG games on my new blog which I started yesterday and have been beavering away on. I will be doing full reviews of indie games in the future but for now it's a straightforward roundup.
