This reminds me - before Coin-op Capers there was Conversion Capers (what a caper), and the following games were covered:

Chase HQ (#55)
Green Beret (#44)
Dragon's Lair (#38)
Hard Drivin' (#27)
Gauntlet (#23)

Rolling Thunder is a very good call.

I too thought it was popular - can't ever remember anyone complaining about it (or it's length). Being able to see old arcade cabs alone is worth the entrance fee.

One of the more unusual cabs would be great. How about

Punch-Out!

Battlezone

Enduro Racer

Street Fighter (with the pressure pads)

it's the least complained about and most praised feature the mag has ever had, epic fail in removing it, especially with all the talk about listening to the forum..........

Must have missed that issue...Will need to hunt it down! I remember reading the one on Gauntlet....

The four player Gauntlet 2 was the one that kept me in the arcades though! Would love to find one of those machines, as I remember it being massive, but I was a bit smaller back then! Be interesting to compare....

Your post is an epic fail.

It has not been removed. It can take months to research one of these features. That's the simple reason why it's not in every issue.

it has been removed and it will be cut/reduced (to accomadate more dross), when it comes back, and that is an epic fail.

If it had been removed, it would not be coming back. And it is changing format to improve it. How that is a failure remains beyond me.

it has been removed, and cutting the most popular feature the magazine has ever had by 2 pages is an epic fail, not an improvement.

I can understand it takes a while to research these articles, hence they aren't in every issue but I can't see anyone was complaining about them being too long at 8 pages. I'd rather it went to 10 pages than 6. It's fine as it was.

Indeed, would be great to see it make a comeback and very interesting to see how a 2 page cut is sold as an improvement.........

No one said it would be an improvement, or that it would definitely be happening...

Tbh , I'll just be glad to see it back in the mag. Even if it's with a more 'common' cab whilst the rare ones are researched. I've probably enjoyed this article more than any other in the mag. The building/restoration of an arcade cab was great as well, but that was some time ago now.

At the end of the day, the size of the article is determined by what you've got to put in it. I would prefer not to see 6 pages padded out to 8; then again I would hate to see 2 pages of 'good stuff' omitted to squeeze it into 6. Imho 2 pages need to be devoted to image(s) of the cab itself, so 6 should really be a minimum. Like I said though, I'd prefer a 6 page article than no article at all.

Some games I think it'd be great to see featured are:

- Cisco Heat
- Cycle Warriors
- Hot Chase
- Racing Hero
- Thunder Blade
- Super Slams
- Gratia: Second Earth
