We had a CPC and were by no means rich. Honestly I've no idea why my parents bought it. I could understand why they were kinda happy when I bought a PC over whatever console at the time but the 464 ? Really no idea!ivarf wrote:I found many great PC games when I bought my first PC in 1990. It was bought for studies but forund other uses too. It was a low specked cheap 286 16 MHz with a 256 kB VGA graphics card. You mentions rich kids, something I have seen been thrown around when Amstrad CPCs are talked about too. I think this is a UK only thing, at least the focus on rich and poor.
Much more DOS and old PC gaming coverage please!!

As RG's token Norwegian Amstrad fan, I'd like to ask you two questions:Pål Waaktaar wrote: I found many great PC games when I bought my first PC in 1990. 1. How much did the CPC464 cost in Norway?
2. What is Norwegian for "You're fired"?

Not PC gaming, but there is a really brilliant article over at Toms Hardware on 'Nine Ingredients Essential to the Modern PC Experience'....

That to me is interesting.
